Connect Staycation!
Connect College Ministry is having a Staycation this Saturday, October 22! College students and leaders will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Northstar Ministry Center before heading over to McAfee's Knob for a hike. Be sure to bring a bagged lunch to eat at the overlook as we will spend some time at the top. On the return trip, we will stop for an amazing dinner at The Homeplace!

 Saturday Seminary
Our next Saturday Seminary of the semester is happening on Saturday, October 22, at 10:00 a.m.! We encourage you to join us as Andrew Connors, of Connors Law Firm, will be speaking on religious liberties that we are given in the United States. Find out just how we, as Christians, are protected by the First Amendment when it comes to sharing and exercising our faith. We will be meeting in Room 145 of Virginia Tech's Goodwin Hall.  What's the Deal?
After taking a week off for Fall Break, Connect is ready to pick back up with the "What's the Deal?" Sunday School series this Sunday, October 23 during the 9:00 a.m. service! You don't want to miss this week as Erin Petersen facilitates a discussion that asks, "Why would a loving God send people to hell?"

 GAP Fall Retreat
It's finally that time of year! The annual GAP Fall Retreat is happening October 28-30 at Smith Mountain Lake! You don't want to miss this amazing time of rest and renewal as we celebrate how God is consistently moving in our lives. Cost is $75, which includes lodging and meals.

GAPpers! Make plans to join us for our next Big Group of the semester this Monday evening, October 24 at 7:00 p.m. This month we will be meeting at Fieldstone United Methodist Church on North Franklin Street in Christiansburg. If you haven't had a chance to get involed in a small group, this will be a great opportunity for you to meet and connect with folks from the GAP community who can help you get plugged in.

 Northstar Volunteer Ministry
A new semester has begun in Blacksburg and at Northstar Church. With the new semester come new opportunities to serve and we are actively looking for folks who are interested in meeting new people and want to invest in God's kingdom through service. You are encouraged to get involved in an area where you can use your talents to bless others, whether that be through set up and tear down on Sundays or in helping with children's ministry.

Then the Creative Content Team may be just the place for you to serve this fall! We are looking for some creative individuals who are willing to use their talents to help Northstar reach out to others through our website and various social media outlets.

 ReVerb Parents Night
Parents of ReVerb Students! You are invited to join us for youth group on Sunday, October 30! There will be food provided for you and your kids! During small group time, there will be a parent meeting to revisit our vision and to cast new ideas to parents! If you just want to come for the parent meeting, it will begin at 6:30 p.m.!

 Moms In Prayer
We are excited to begin a new ministry at Northstar called Moms In Prayer! If you are a woman who has a passion for praying for your child, other children, their schools, and our community, we invite you to join us! We are planning to meet on several Thursdays throughout the remainder of the semester from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the Northstar Ministry Center. Our first of these meetings will be on Thursday, October 27. If you plan to attend this meeting, please RSVP here so we will know to provide snacks and childcare for enough people.

 Parents Night Out
Parents! Mark your calendars for Friday, November 11 and enjoy a night out on the town! Northstar Church is joining forces with Grace Life Baptist to offer parents an affordable night of babysitting because we believe that time with your spouse is important! We hope you will take advantage of this great opportunity! This evening will run from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. and we will supply crafts, games, and snacks for the kids! Please have you children eat dinner before arriving at Grace Life Baptist Church. Cost is $10.00 per family.

Our quarterly magazine highlights different stories from church members, small groups, ministries, and other exciting goings-on around the New River Valley. This issue features articles about how we spent our summer vacation, adoption stories from different points of view, news from our Pulaski campus, and the story of how one young woman's faith in God has helped her to traverse a difficult time.
