5 WordPress updates of interest

As always, there are updates! Is it important that you read the change logs? No. However, it is important to keep your WordPress system up-to-date. There are often new features that slip-in which can improve how you work. If you have questions or are worried about updating, please contact me!

  • Wordpress is at 4.6.1. The 4.6 release arrived in August and is called "Pepper". It's packed with tiny updates to improve your interactions with the software, from the editor to how updates are installed.
  • WooCommerce is at 2.6.6 and was updated earlier today. One of the biggest features of the 2.6 version is shipping zones.
  • Yoast SEO is at 3.7.1 and was updated earlier today. They've been busy updating the experience to make it easier to deal with SEO.
  • Jetpack is at 4.3.2. This most recent update improves the new stats (returning them to the submenu) and includes many bug fixes.
  • Genesis theme framework is at 2.4.2. The 2.4 version has many enhancements including to their Markup API.
