IFI Congratulates City of Dalian on Declaration Adoption

My IFI team and I are very proud to celebrate with the world three new IFI Interiors Declaration adoptions that took place in the month of September. It is my great pleasure to announce the city of Dalian, China as one of these dedicated cities, committed to investing in the power of the Interior Architecture/Design profession to deliver economic, functional, aesthetic and social advantage to the city as a whole. This of course affects the life-quality of all of its people. Dalian joins the other remarkable Chinese cities that have already adopted this historic agreement: Shenzhen (2011), Guangzhou (2012), Wuxi (2013), Shanghai (2016) and Taipei, Taiwan (2011).

Dalian Teams with CIDA to Partner with IFI for Prioritization of the Value and Role of Interiors in Its City and the Lives of Its Citizens

In Dalian, the IFI Interiors Declaration was adopted on September 22 by Vice Director of Dalian Urban and Rural Construction Committee, Li Dongye. Ms. Li Dongye highlighted her municipality's forward-thinking approach in the betterment of spaces that support its citizens in all their activities. As a strong member of IFI, China National Interior Decoration Association (CIDA) in conjunction with their local chapter, Dalian Interior Decoration Association (DIDA), these associations were a pivotal force in the promotion of this adoption and its success. Representing IFI, President Elect Steve Leung proudly participated in the Adoption Ceremony.

With this adoption, Dalian confirms its commitment to design development and excellence while recognizing the power and impact of Interior Architecture/Design and its contribution to society.

This adoption by Dalian represents a massive triumph for the profession and I am extremely proud of our member CIDA for their committed effort for making it possible. It is a targeted initiative of our current Board to promote the adoption of the IFI Interiors Declaration by more cities than ever before, hereby increasing public recognition of Interior Architects/Designers worldwide and spreading awareness of the significance of Interiors. We look forward to continuing to work with our esteemed members and community to make this a reality, taking our Declaration to a whole new level of action and raising our profession to unparalleled new heights.
