October Newsletter | Latest news and trips for 2017
|
|
Welcome to our newsletter and as you will see in this edition we have refreshed the design and layout. The photo above is from Lunana Snowman trek in Bhutan and this is the spectacular view from the Karchung La known as the entry pass into the Lunana region of Bhutan.
October is our peak season in Nepal and Bhutan and at the moment we have a wide range of groups in the field from the most challenging Nepal Makalu to Everest GHT to the more gentle Luxury Kathmandu Valley trek. Over in Bhutan, Almas Khan is leading our Lunana Snowman trek and yesterday reached hot springs at Dur Taschu. I an sure they are enjoying a well earnt soak in these lovely rock pools after 25 days of trekking! This is the eighth time we have organised Lunana Snowman trek and so far we have 100% success rate.
I am excited to announce we have a new trek in Bhutan for April 2017 called Rodung La with Merak and Sakten. This trek may be of interest if you have already done Lunana Snowman as Rodung La trek travels east of Bumthang and connects The Great Himalaya Trail. Rodung La is nearly guaranteed as we have already received two confirmed bookings so we need two more in order to guarantee to run this trip.
If you would like to trek with Almas Khan in 2017 then I suggest you take a look at our Ladakh Sky Trail GHT in Northern India in August and September. Almas will also lead our 2017 Lunana Snowman trek in Bhutan for the fifth time!
Groups for Spring 2017 in Nepal are starting to fill and our Upper Dolpo to Jomsom GHT is guaranteed and there is currently only five spaces available. If you are interested in joining this trek I suggest you get in contact with us soon. Please click on link below to see our list of guaranteed and nearly guaranteed to run trips for 2017.
I am in Nepal until mid November then will be travelling in Burma until mid December on a recce trip to check out new places and hotels for future trips in this destination. If you would like to get in touch with us then as ever Helen or Edward will be in our London office taking calls and I will be online replying to emails.
If you enjoyed reading our newsletter we would appreciate if you could share this on Facebook or forward to your friends who might be interested by clicking on the links at bottom of this newsletter. Thank you!
Trek on!

New safety TMC policy | BS8848
Satellite phones in Nepal, Bhutan & Pakistan
|
|
We have recently introduced a new safety policy as we move to implementing BS8848 of sending Thuraya satellite phone on all treks in Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan. Having reliable communications in the field via a satellite phone such as Thuraya is critical for group safety, risk management and contingency planning in an emergency situation.
