Congregational Meeting

We will have a congregational meeting on Sunday, November 6, immediately following our gathered worship service to approve our
2017 budget.

Annual Chili Cook-Off

Covenant's Annual Chili Cook-Off is November 13 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This great family event is also a fundraiser for our youth Winter Retreat. The more chili, the better the competition! Enter as a small group, Sunday School class, or individual. We will also be selling quarts of Traci’s variety of chilis for $5. Contact Rachel Davis to enter (shields.rachel.c@gmail.com).

Lifeline's Annual Banquet & Fundraiser

Covenant is the primary sponsor for Lifeline's 14th Annual Banquet & Fundraiser on Tuesday, October 25. This year's theme is "Share the Story: A Light in the Darkness". Join us to hear stories from men, women, and children whose darkness has been cast out by mercy, grace, and hope, and ultimately the love of Christ. The event will be at The Sheraton Birmingham Hotel with a silent auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the program and dinner at 6:30. Please contact Dave Driskill for ticket information (ddriskill@covpres.com).

Family Promise of Birmingham

Family Promise is coming to Covenant November 6-13. We need volunteers in several different areas: providing meals, serving, and spending time with the families. Look for a sign up sheet in your Sunday School class or email Barbara Thompson at babsfthompson@gmail.com.

Sketch of Covenant Available

Local artist Zehra Syed was commissioned to create a sketch of Covenant as an anniversary gift for a couple who was married in our church. Zehra is now offering prints of the sketch to our congregation. The prints are $30, and you can view it and all of her work on her website, znsgallery.com.

InSpero Prayer Breakfast

InSpero, which exists to support the growth of creative community, is hosting a prayer breakfast October 20 from 7:00-8:00 a.m. at 16th Street Baptist Church. Steve Garber, author of "Visions of Vocation: Common Grace for the Common Good" and "The Fabric of Faithfulness: Weaving Together Belief and Behavior", will be speaking.

Theopolis Institute Lecture

Theopolis Institute exists to teach men and women to lead cultural renewal by renewing the church. The next event in their Birmingham Life & Culture Series is October 25, 7:00 p.m. at Avondale Brewery. Jody Bottum, former editor-in-chief of First Things, will be speaking on "The Protestant Origins of the Novel".
