Another highlight at Industry@Tallinn will be the second edition of the European Commission conference European Film Forum 2016 Tallinn: Breaking Windows, Tackling Convergence. Last year’s Forum took on the hot issue of the Digital Single Market with the European Commission Vice President Andrus Ansip among the speakers, and this year’s programme will focus on the changed audiovisual landscape brought on by technology and on new players in the value chain - from over the top providers to telcos, content startups and multinational streaming giants. Some 14 global leaders from the audiovisual and content industries will take the floor. The complete programme will soon be published.

Industry@Tallinn is also happy to welcome Eye on Films (EoF), the label and support platform dedicated to the promotion and circulation of first and second European films, which will be in Tallinn to present its 2016 selection and activities, and an industry screening programme of eight new films looking for distributors, festivals and programme partners. Set up in 2011 by Wide with  support from the European Commission, the platform guarantees promotion, exhibition and commercialization of EoF films worldwide through its global network of film festivals, distributors and exhibitors in close to 50 countries.

In addition, Industry@Tallinn will be featuring the Baltic Event, European Genre Forum, workshops and talent platforms, a dynamic Lab section exploring the digital world and possible collaborations between film and technology, gaming and startup sectors, and more. More information on this will be presented during the upcoming weeks.

Marge Liiske, Head of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, commented: :
“The Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event team is proud to present a dynamic  marketplace where you can both explore the best that Northern Europe has to offer and do global deals. While growing quickly, we set our focus on keeping our small and friendly setting where networking is easy and deals can be done in a stress free setting.
This year the market will also be attended by an increasing number of content, ip, startup and venture capital professionals due to special events, like Game Jam Hackaton co-organised with IGDA Estonia, or Storytek Content Accelerator Seminar, partnered by investment bank Head Capital and powered by Entreprise Estonia, to not only create ties and be great sparring partners at our industry conferences, but also to showcase the great advantages “e-Estonia” and the startup model can offer the creative world when it comes to innovation and financing as well and doing that at the one of most influential film festivals in Northern Europe”.

Daphne Kapfer, Managing Director of Europa International, commented:
“Europa International is happy to set up its annual conference during Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. The festival is important for the European sales agents, being the bridge between Scandinavia and European Eastern countries, gathering impressive industry professionals and key players from the regions. The festival gives a unique opportunity to Europa International to discuss the future and challenges of international distribution, and to brainstorm about the new business models.”

Marco Urizzi, Project Coordinator of Eye on Films commented:
“We are very excited to be showcasing our films at a respected and well-known industry event and film festival, which is dedicated, among other things, on introducing the film and industry of smaller regions such as the Baltics to the world. Also, we are very much looking forward to meeting the mentors and the representatives of some of the leading sales companies at the annual Europa International conference.”
