The Pumpkin Patch
Our annual pumpkin sale provides funds for many of our mission projects each year both in the local community and in other areas of God’s World. We are looking for volunteers to help sell the pumpkins. Click here for more information or contact Jack Keene, biohaz3@verizon.net or 986-7701

Don’t forget to come by the pumpkin patch to purchase your pumpkins and support our mission projects!
Administrative Assistant
We are currently accepting applications for a part-time Administrative Assistant position. If you know of any interested persons, please have them send a cover letter and resume to jobs@mtpisgahva.org. Click here for more information.
Trunk or Treat is Coming!
On Saturday, October 29, we will gather as a church family and open our trunks and our hearts to the children of our church and the larger Midlothian community with our 5th annual Trunk or Treat extravaganza! We always have a great time fellowshipping with each other and meeting lots of kids and families from our community. Every year we have amazingly creative decorations and costumes and some truly scrumptious food! We’ve also got games, crafts and a hayride!!
It takes LOTS of support to make this huge event happen and many of you have already answered the call – thank you!!  We’ve still got some gaps in critical areas, however, so please consider how you can be a part of this wonderful afternoon.  We particularly need decorated trunks and crockpots of chili.  (We have the items needed to decorate 2 trunks if you are interested in participating but just aren’t sure how to decorate your vehicle!)  Please visit the link below and sign up for how you want to help with Trunk or Treat.  Really, there’s something for everyone. And be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, October 29, 3:00-5:00pm to be at Mt. Pisgah and join in the fun. You’ll be glad you did!! The event will be held rain or shine.

To sign up to help with Trunk or Treat, please click here or contact Kay Adams at children@mtpisgahva.org
Soul Art Workshop:
Saturday, October 22 from 9:00-12:00
Looking for a creative space to nurture your soul and grow in community with other women? Please join us, here at Mt. Pisgah, for our very first Soul Art Workshop! We will spend a relaxing morning reflecting on what makes our individual souls come alive and creating collages as visual reminders of the authentic persons God created us to be. Absolutely no art experience necessary. Just come as you are! For additional information or to register, contact facilitator Kristin Blankenship at twofromjmu@verizon.net or 378-0767. A sign-up sheet is also located on the kiosk bulletin board in the CFLC.
I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made! Psalm 139:14
Red Bird Craft Fair
Get ready to do your Christmas Shopping early. The Red Bird Craft Store will be open at JB Hall on Saturday, October 22 (9am-2pm) and Sunday, October 23 (8am-1pm). The crafts that will be available are all made in Eastern Kentucky by folks that have real talent and are limited financially by the economy in that area. This is another mission opportunity to assist the folks in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky by purchasing their handicrafts.
United Methodist Women
The MP UMW will be holding their general meeting on Saturday, October 22 in the CFLC beginning at noon and invite you to join us for a light lunch as we discuss things that are happening within the UMW.
Deliver Communion to Homebound Members
We need your help to deliver communion to our homebound members. Please consider joining our Pastors’ Outreach team to continue this important ministry to some of our most faithful members. Only a few hours, one day per month. Substitutes are also needed. There is an information meeting on Thursday, October 27, at 11:00 am in Room 107/109 (a second meeting can be arranged for those that don’t have daytime availability). Please contact Pastor Anita if you are interested: associate@mtpisgahva.org
Celebration Sunday
On October 30, you will have the opportunity to present your “A Life of Joy” pledge card during worship. What really brings you joy? True joy is ultimately found in our relationship with God. It is living as a disciple of Jesus by following his example of serving others and giving generously.
True joy involves a life of giving - giving of our time, talents, and money so we can be a blessing to others and make a difference in this world. A Biblical way of giving to God is the tithe (10% of your income). Another option is to move toward the tithe by increasing your giving by 1% from 2016. As a witness to your love of God and your thankfulness for his blessings to you, please pray about your part in “A Life of Joy.” Thank you for your faithfulness, generosity, and partnership in investing in God’s work. Your giving matters. Your giving makes an eternal difference.

To celebrate our giving to God and to thank him for what he is doing at Mt. Pisgah, you’re invited to a churchwide lunch on Sunday, October 30, at 12:15 pm in the Christian Family Life Center. All food will be provided.
Prayer Retreat
Do you want to know more about prayer? Would you like to learn some new ways to pray to strengthen your prayer life? If so, then come to the Prayer Retreat on Saturday, November 5 in the CFLC from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Facilitated by Claire Poole, her topic will be “An Introduction to Jesuit Spirituality.”
She will discuss some Jesuit prayer practices and perspectives as well as make some connections between Jesuit and Wesleyan spirituality. Please sign up here by Wednesday, November 2 or contact the office. Each of us needs some quiet time to spend in God’s presence, not only praying, but also listening. So, take time out of your busy schedule and come on November 5 to learn, pray, and refresh your soul.  You will be blessed!
Thanksgiving Bags
Want to help brighten a family’s Thanksgiving? Working with CCHASM, you can donate a Thanksgiving bag, consisting of specific items, to a needy Chesterfield County family. The sign-up list and instruction sheet are located on the Missions Bulletin Board near the church office. Please return all bags (our goal is 35) to the Gathering Room by Sunday, November 13. Any questions, call Elizabeth Farrell (897-0091). Thanks for blessing and caring for those less fortunate.
Volunteer at Hopkins Elementary
Hopkins Elementary would love to have volunteers for the classroom, library, tutoring or mentoring. If you love to work with children this is an excellent mission opportunity. Please contact Kathy Epperson at 794-6612 or kathyne2010@gmail.com.
Upward Basketball
Registration for Upward Basketball has started! You can find more information and register online. The league is a partnership involving Crestwood Presbyterian, St. Marks UMC, and Mt. Pisgah UMC. Players in Kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible to participate.
Tellers Needed
Two volunteers are needed to work as tellers (one for the first Sunday of each month and another for third Sundays). Some experience with EXCEL spreadsheets is needed for this job, which involves gathering the offering for each service, collating the checks and cash, entering data into the computer, and making a deposit at the bank. Training provided. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Brian Wakeman at 379-4134.
