Dear <<First Name>>,
"For when I am weak, then am I strong…" Our dependency on God, and God alone, is our only hope for our hearts and the heart of a nation to turn back to the Lord fully.
When nations prayed, God intervened.
- In 2004 in Northern Uganda, a nation was on its knees, in heart-rending prayer, and God supernaturally intervened and brought peace to the land.
- In 2007, Ebola came into Uganda, and with no plan ‘B’s at hand, we went to our knees and cried out for the intervention of God. By the end of the week, the quarantine cases were released as negative, and the land has been free from the horrors of this disease since then.
- In 2015, as Sudanese believers wept on their faces in desperate heart cries for the Maker of heaven and earth, to spare their nation from constant bloody ravages, the first peace treaty was signed, and a light of hope began to break open once again.
In Exodus 14, II Chronicles 20, Ezra 8, and so many many chapters we read of history repeating itself. God’s people prayed, and He heard and intervened.
One African pastor stated it so clearly, "We only come to persistent prayer, out of desperation. And we will come to desperation through discipline or disaster. Have it your way."
WHAT IF we prayed? What if our living room tables became our prayer alters... the dining room chairs, our kneeling benches... the side of our beds, our meeting place with God... and the office chair at work, became a place of encounters with the King of Universe?
What if our hunger for God’s Word became stronger than our appetite for food? And the Bible became more compelling and fulfilling than any movie ever made?
What if our hope rested in the Creator of the Universe, instead of bank accounts and governments?
What if His name was talked of, more than the Hollywood stars?
What if churches were populated more than football fields and worship drew more than rock star entertainers?
What if pulpits became prayer closets and pews became travailing rooms?
As Favor's team in Uganda is in 10 days of prayer and fasting for America, I pray we can join them in the desperation they feel for this nation to be on its knees. As we put feet to our faith... let’s pray and take action.
