SAN DIEGO COMPANIES EMBRACE THEIR "INDUSTRIAL SIDE"

Design direction becomes a creative mash-up of office + industrial

First, creative office design opened up the corporate space by eliminating cubicle partitions and office walls. Now it's done away with the separation of "back-of-house" from "front-of-house". This integration of industrial operations into the creative office landscape has led to the “creative industrial” trend. The result is an elevated design and thoughtful layout of the manufacturing floor, fulfillment center and warehouse.

Ocio's clients are embracing this movement. Fashionphile ’s new HQ features an entirely open lay-out that allows visitors to view not only their elegant executive offices but also their multi-million dollar purse inventory and the operations that form the backbone of their business (like receiving, authentication and shipping).

At Chuao Chocolatie r 's HQ the layout of manufacturing equipment was an integral part of the design. Immediately upon entering the lobby visitors are greeted with a view of the manufacturing floor through a large glass window. The result is a visual experience in which guests witness the entire process -- from chocolate production to packaging and shipping -- from the moment they enter the building.
