Hi friends,
here is a new song from an upcoming album
COAL MINER
I'm shoveling coal
into a hole
in the furnace of my heart.
This engine of old
silent and cold
will fire to the light of your spark.
Blue birds they fly
in the sparkle of your eyes
(blink and they will flutter).
Girl don’t you cry
it's going be alright
(it’s a world of wonder).
You were three days old
I was feeling so bold
I held your little heart next to mine.
And when you would go
I’d hope that you'd know
the sound of that big drum of mine.
Blue birds they fly
in the sparkle of your eyes
(blink and they will flutter).
Girl don’t you cry
it's going be alright
(it’s a world of wonder).
It's going to be alright
"Coal Miner" is the latest from a new album that I have been recording for my daughter. I detail the story behind this song here at my blog site, but in short, it describes the experience I had in being God father to my daughter before she was adopted.
You can stream the song here for a limited time:
New Album
Josh Golden and Robert Deeble @ Conor Bryne Seattle
Since the adoption of our daughter I've been writing an album that documents the long process of how we became a family together. My hope is to set a release date for Father's Day 2017. In the meantime the studio sessions have begun and some talented friends are lending their support. Some include Tomo Nakamora, Graig Markel, Jen Wood, Josh Golden, Neal Vickers, Shelly Weiss, Antoine Arvizu and Tony Green. Needless to say this will be another highly orchestrated album.
For those of you in the Seattle area...
I will be at the The Blue Moon Oct 20th doing a short opening set with new material on the album. Joining me for this show is Josh Golden on bass and Matt Johnson on drums.

Patronage
Thanks to the good people at bandcamp.com, my website now has a feature for patronage. Doing so enables you to partner in the artistic process by helping me record this album and having access to songs in their early stages. I feel like this allows more of a personal connection to an album and its development. I hope some of you will consider becoming a patron if you are able. Here is more information.
Thanks for listening...
- Robert
