October's Corporal Work of Mercy: Bury the Dead

Come Pray with us

Please join us to pray The Living Rosary on Friday, October 28th at 2:00 p.m. We will meet in the St. John School parking lot behind the school. Whether you are accustomed to praying the Rosary or unfamiliar with this beautiful Catholic prayer, you are welcome to join us.  Our Mother Mary’s intercessions for us are very powerful.  Following the Rosary, students will launch a Rosary made of balloons with attached prayer requests. If you have any requests that you wish to be lifted up during this time, please send them into the school office. All are welcome to join in for this wonderful prayer.

Thank you!

Please join me in thanking Craig Bussan, Chad Kruger and Jon Davis for spending 9 hours here last Saturday installing our new sound system in the gym. Their volunteer efforts saved the school many hundreds of dollars in installation cost. I can't wait to hear the fruits of their labor during our Christmas Concert this year.

Mass on Thursday
Thursday, October 27th's Mass is in honor of Saint Teresa of Calcutta (Food for the Hungry). Please bring a non-perishable food item to the school Mass.

Mean & Ugly
What ever happened to the Wicked Witch who put Snow White to sleep? Too many years have passed since she was “fairest in the land.” She now knows that few titles are left for her, so she thereby proclaims herself “Mean and Ugliest” in the land! However, all the other witches believe they are more deserving of the title.  Please come, and see who the mean and ugliest in the land really is, as the Fifth grade music class presents “Mean and Ugly!” A Halloween comedy! Showtime is on Thursday, October 27th beginning at 6:30 pm in the multi purpose room. Admission is free.

Girls' Basketball

Girls' basketball will start on Oct 24th, from 3:30 - 5:00. A parent meeting will be held after the first practice (5:00). A current physical must be on file in the office before a student can participate.

Archery practice

Archery practice will begin on Wed, Nov 7th from 6:30 - 8:00pm.

Mass Communication
In an effort to quickly communicate with parents, I have downloaded a program called Remind. If you'd like to receive last-minute reminders and updates about important school information, please visit  https://www.remind.com/join/jgiery . The site claims that although this communication procedure is similar to group texting, your information will not be available to anyone but me.
