A story from Learning to Give:
Ms. Mahone taught her fourth graders in Detroit the Learning to Give lesson, “Rivers for the Common Good.” Students studied river health and then contacted their state representatives to advocate for clean water. Ms. Mahone, applied for a TeachOne service-learning mini-grant to purchase river testing equipment that the students used for their lesson.
Mini-grants are available with priority given to applicants with lessons or projects focused on the environment including the Flint Water Crisis.
