Tips for a Successful 2017 Open Enrollment

It was great seeing so many of you at the agent meetings! Here is the presentation from the meetings to help you with your sales.

As a reminder, BlueChoice® HealthPlan will not be offering any health plans for 2017 on the federally facilitated marketplace (FFM). We will continue to offer Blue OptionSM products off exchange. In addition, services outside the Blue Option network are only covered for urgent or emergency care performed in an urgent treatment center or emergency room effective Jan. 1, 2017.

CMS Required Mailings
BlueChoice® will send the CMS required mailings to all off-exchange members. Here are samples of each: We will direct members to their agents. Agents’ names and phone numbers will appear in the letters.

Individual Pre-Affordable Care Act (ACA) members
In addition, we will send a letter to our individual pre-ACA members.
 
Passwords
Take a few minutes to check all of your BlueChoice login and password credentials now.

Key sites to check:
  1. BlueChoice My Business Manager
Use the same username/password combination that you use for the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina My Business Manager. Notify your BlueChoice representative immediately if you have an issue logging in.
  1. BlueChoice Private Site 
Your login for this page is your six-digit BlueChoice agent number (example: 001ABC). Please DO NOT attempt to use an email or your username for My Business Manager to log in or reset a password on this site.

You must contact your BlueChoice representative to have this account set up or reset.
  1. Learning Management System (LMS)
Make sure that you have completed your training to be appointed as a BlueChoice agent. Your login for this system is your South Carolina Department of Insurance number. If you have questions, please email PBT.Training@bcbssc.com OR call 855-215-0281, option 1.

Payments
You can help your clients make payments:
  • Online — You will need the member’s ID number to set up a profile.  
  • During the application process by bank draft, pre-paid debit card or credit card
  • By calling the Agent Only Support Line at 866-280-0766
  • By calling the Billing Service Center at 866-569-5933 (for agents or members) and pressing option 1 to make an automated payment
