FOR THIS SUNDAY  |  NEW ON THE BLOG

CHURCH PICNIC: We're planning an old-fashioned church picnic for THIS Sunday, October 23 right after the worship service in Hampton Park (by the pond, look for a blue tent). Bring your own picnic basket and blanket, and pray for good weather! Bring outdoor games to play like cornhole or bocce, and there will be organized games for the kids, too. So invite a friend or neighbor, come build community, and get to know Redeemer folks in other community groups!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: Our Shoebox Drive 2016 kicked off last Sunday, but we do still have 30-40 more empty boxes to fill. Read more details here! Remember, full boxes are due November 6 at the church, and be sure to buy a special shipping label online for $7 so you can track your shoebox around the globe. Participate with one (or all!) of our challenges:

  1. Family Challenge - Every family at Redeemer filling at least one box.
  2. Office Challenge - Professionals, take an empty box to work and fill it with help from your colleagues.
  3. Donation Challenge - Don't want to shop? Give money to help fill a box, or donate shipping costs for boxes that are already full. Make your check payable to Redeemer with Operation Christmas Child in the memo.

REDEEMER KIDS CHRISTMAS: Our Redeemer Kids are hosting a special Christmas Celebration in the evening on Sunday, December 11. They will share the story of Jesus' birth with family and friends. More details to come! In working toward that special event, we'll have music rehearsals each Sunday (continuing this Sunday, October 23) immediately after the worship service in the Fellowship Hall. Pastor Craig will dismiss the elementary children before the last song to join the preschoolers already in the Fellowship Hall from Children's Worship. The Children's Committee and volunteers will walk the children to the Fellowship Hall for a 10-15 minute rehearsal. Parents need to pick up the children from the Fellowship Hall after the service.

CHRISTMAS EVENTS: Mark your calendars for these upcoming events to celebrate the season! More details to come.

RECITAL: Come hear beautiful music in Redeemer's sanctuary on Saturday, October 22 at 7 pm at a recital for some Charleston Symphony Orchestra members, titled Chamber Music for Woodwinds with works by Bozza, Arnold, Francaix, Gabaye, and Schulhoff. The performers will be Gretchen Roper, clarinet; Zac Hammond, oboe; Joshua Baker, bassoon; and John Samuel Roper, flute.

BAILEY WEDDING: Our senior pastor's eldest daughter is getting married! Craig & Kathy would love for anyone in the church family to come celebrate with them at the wedding ceremony on Saturday, October 29 at 5 pm in Redeemer's sanctuary. Come wish Kate & Roy well before they leave for their private family reception.

LISTEN AND SPEAK: A conversation in faith and culture is coming to Charleston on Thursday-Friday, October 27-28 at The Cathedral (126 Coming St., 29403) featuring a PCA pastor from Nashville and music by Andrew Peterson. Get more details here.

CONCERT FUNDRAISER: Redeemer's own Kyle Babb (choir director at First Baptist School of Charleston) invites you to a Pops! Dessert Concert in our Fellowship Hall on Saturday, November 12 at 8-10 pm. Find more details here.

WATCHMEN ON THE WALL: Sign up for a block of time to pray for specific needs in our congregation using this prayer schedule.
From Isaiah 62:6
I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;
    they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord,
    give yourselves no rest.

PRAYER REQUESTS: Our Session longs to pray for our congregation, and many of you offer your requests on Sundays through the attendance pads. We've also developed a web form for you to submit prayer requests you have during the week. If you'd like prayer, please use this form.
