Team Member Spotlight: Dean Rivera

Dean is one of Caorda's newest developers. In 2015, Dean left the Philippines and moved to Victoria to be with his wife and to start a new chapter in his life. After graduating from Saint Louis University with a degree in IT, Dean enrolled in a web development program to learn the basics, then continued teaching himself, gaining knowledge from various companies.

Dean loves animals, especially dogs. He dreams of one day having a pet pig and corgi. He will name them Ham & Cheese. Whenever you talk to him and his answers do not make any sense, do not mind him; he might have a slight hearing problem, although his wife says it's selective hearing, since it usually happens when she asks him to do chores.
When he was younger, Dean was really good at this one fighting video game. Some called him a god, some said he had alien hands.  Yes, he was that good. However, with age comes slower reflexes and bad eyesight. He no longer plays, but every now and then he can still beat some players when challenged.
Dean has quickly grown into one of our staple web developers here at Caorda, and we are grateful for the way he managed almost all of the development of our new Caorda website. His calm demeanour, cheerful smile and integrity make him a pleasure to work with!

Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists
The Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists (ORL) has a snazzy new mobile-friendly website to help the Office keep the BC government accountable and lobbying-transparent. A document management system was developed in the CMS to keep track of the PDF reports and documents presented throughout the website. With three unique target audiences, the site presents landing pages for the general public, organizations and consultant lobbyists, which helps users to quickly find relevant resources. https://lobbyistsregistrar.bc.ca

Concrete Corrections, a client of ours since 2011, decided to revamp its web presence with a fresh WordPress design. The website is now mobile responsive, and it sports a new look and feel that represents the business well. Sulburk Industries
We were introduced to Sulburk Industries through Ideba Marketing, a design company with offices in Victoria, BC and Portland, OR. Ideba came up with the great design, then turned to Caorda to implement the development and bring the website to life! We were excited to help establish Sulburk’s web presence as this new business takes off. Sulburk is based in Aspen, Colorado, and offers a variety of security solutions for the hospitality industry.
