Dear Pastors and Congregational Leaders,

There were some that said we were nuts! Our goal was to start a movement of "Stewardship and Generosity" that flows in and through our local congregations. We have heard many of you share and have seen survey results that show that Stewardship is an area you want support in. To that end we canvased the country to find the best and excited to share news with you that the United Methodist Church of Greater New Jersey has contracted with Horizons Stewardship in a comprehensive partnership focusing on "Stewardship and Generosity". This leading edge partnership is designed to support your congregation’s ministry, help you develop a dynamic year round stewardship plan and stir positive energy in your local church.

Horizon’s Stewardship is well-known across the country for being very effective in Stewardship consulting. While the majority of focus will be in the Southern Region, Senior-Vice President Scott McKenzie, PhD and the Horizons team will also be working in partnership with the connectional ministries team from The United Methodist Church of Greater New Jersey. Scott and Horizon’s experience and expertise will bless the entire Greater New Jersey Conference.

As we work to continue to develop and roll out resources with your congregations in mind, this partnership with Horizons will allow us to intentionally develop a foundation for stewardship that moves us forward in equipping spiritual leaders to make disciples and grow vital congregations to transform the world.

Seeking to resource you, bless Christ’s church and transform God’s world,

Myrna Bethke and Brian Roberts
Southern Region District Superintendents

Horizon Stewardship: Dr. Scott McKenzie, Partner & Senior Vice President
Scott McKenzie first and foremost is a pastor! He has over 20 years of experience in stewardship development. Prior to consulting he was a local church pastor and the Director of Stewardship for the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Dr. McKenzie passionately believes stewardship is ultimately a question of faith development and discipleship. As a national workshop leader, author, and conference speaker, he teaches stewardship as "grounded in gratitude, revealed in prayer and lived in faith." Scott is the co-author of Climb Higher: Reaching New Heights in Giving and Discipleship , Bounty: Ten Ways To Increase Giving At Your Church and Generosity Rising: Leading a Stewardship Revolution in Your Church
