International Database System - Coming Soon

Since the release of i-Tree Eco version 6, we have received numerous international projects requiring custom processing by the US Forest Service. As a result, we are currently developing a new online database system to better serve international users and to reduce time and resources needed for processing. The new system will validate and accept international pollution data, location details, new species information, and other model requirements. The data will be vetted and integrated into the model as a new international location that would be available for automated processing in a future Eco update. Learn more >

i-Tree 2017 Preview at Partners

Members of the i-Tree Development Team, including Dr. Dave Nowak from the US Forest Service and Scott Maco from the Davey Institute, will be previewing i-Tree 2017 at the Partners in Community Forestry Conference in Indianapolis, IN on Nov 17th, 2016. Some highlights include:

MyTree - a new i-Tree app for smartphones and tablets to calculate individual tree benefits
i-Tree Eco - UV radiation reduction due to trees and tree effects on wildlife habitat (9 bird species)
i-Tree Landscape - Additional layers and data integration including pest range maps, ultraviolet radiation risk and improved reporting
i-Tree Hydro - Green infrastructure design effects on stream flow and water quality
i-Tree Species - Updated to run as an accessible web-based tool

Beyond i-Tree, Innovative Engagement Strategies

Understanding community awareness and values complements the recent urban forest projects completed within the City of Unley, South Australia, and strengthens the arguments for the City to increase tree cover. By combining environmental data with community values, the City will be able to more effectively and efficiently target ongoing activities which support a positive cultural and behavioral change towards managing and increasing trees and green infrastructure. Upcoming i-Tree Online Webinars

The next monthly i-Tree instructional webinar will feature i-Tree Streets. The free series is offered by the Urban Natural Resources Institute (UNRI) and will be led by members of the i-Tree Team and other instructors. The sessions typically feature demonstrations, presentations and discussion designed to help participants become familiar with the i-Tree tools and provide a foundation for further learning. Pre-registration is required to participate.
