In Case you Missed It:
WVIA 2016 Annual Meeting

On October 25th, 2016, the Westwood Village Improvement Association (WVIA) hosted its Annual Meeting at the Geffen Playhouse in Westwood Village. Over 110 property owners, merchants, and local residents, along with Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Koretz, and staff attended the meeting.

The first half of the meeting was an overview of the past year, with a peek into the future. The WVIA also highlighted its partnerships with Mayor Garcetti’s Great Streets Initiative, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, and UCLA.

The second half of the meeting featured a presentation from speaker Zev Yaroslavsky, a UCLA alumnus, former Los Angeles city Councilmember and former member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Mr. Yaroslavsky spoke about the importance of Measure M and Proposition HHH and then answered questions about the future of the Westwood Village District.

Thank you to all attendees. We truly value your support and engagement.

We are telling the story about Westwood Village. To further this goal, we have produced a marketing video to highlight some of our accomplishments of the year and what makes Westwood such a special place. We hope you enjoy!

UCLA Volunteer Center Annual Fall Harvest Feast Donations Needed

The 7th Annual UCLA Fall Harvest Feast, a holiday meal for in-need Bruins and their families who would not otherwise be able to have a holiday dinner, is being planned for Wednesday, November 23, 2016.

The meal is being provided, but we would also like to provide attendees and their families with something to take home for the long weekend.

The UCLA Volunteer Center is looking for gift cards to local Westwood merchants or food, toys, and toiletries to help these families through the holiday season.

If you would be open to donating to the event, no matter the gift or amount, we would be incredibly grateful!

Any donations are appreciated and welcomed; the UCLA Foundation's federal taxpayer ID number is 95-2250801 and the Volunteer Center would be glad to assist with any tax deduction questions and provide a letter of confirmation of your donation.
Deadline for donations is Friday, November 18th

If you are interested in donating this year, please contact the UCLA Volunteer Center at volunteer@ucla.edu

Ever wonder what 2,800 lbs. of trash looks like? This is what we remove from our 82 WBID-owned trash cans every day!
