The Labour Laws are Changing
Because labour legislation has not been updated for more than a generation, the Ontario government hired two lawyers, labour law experts, to write a report on labour leglislation that fits this era. Their 300-page report is called “Working Report Ontario” -
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) is addressing some aspects of the proposed changes. You may find the OCC approach at “KeepOntarioWorking.ca”. This website lays out the proposed change and the OCC recommendation. You can vote, voice your opinion, and be a vital part of this change.
Note: Not all areas of the proposed changes will be addressed by Ontario Chamber unless you make a recommendation to the OCC. Members are encouraged to read the report to determine what affects your establishment. The Working Report Ontario can be found at:

The changes will take effect September/October, 2017. Deadline for recommendation is February, 2017 to the Government.
