It is great to be a part of the Rogersville family. A lot of times it takes a while to be truly settled but you all have been so gracious to Joy and I that we feel right at home in the community here. Thank you for making this transition as smooth as possible. We are excited about the opportunities here and pray that you all will find ways to be involved.
COMMUNITY NEWS: Southside's Gospel Meeting is ongoing and will continue through Thursday night. A group from Rogersville is planning to go tonight. If you would like to go we will meet at Southside for singing at 6:30 and service at 7:00 p.m.
Lauderdale County Schools will be having Fall Break at the end of the week. Some of you will be traveling and we are praying for your safety. However, if you are in town there is lots going on that we would love for our students and parents to be involved in.
Here is what we've got going this week:
Shut-In Visit/Corn Maze Devo (Wednesday) – Meet at 6pm by the annex for our monthly shut-in visit which will be followed by a trip to the Corn Maze for our monthly devotional. Cost: $10 per person.
Flag Football Practice (Thursday) - For all those who are planning to play in the Flag Football tournament (Nov. 19) we will have practice on Thursday at 2pm in Rogersville City Park. Other practice dates: October 29 (1pm) and November 6 (3pm)
Bowties and B-dubs (Thursday) – Guys of all ages are invited to eat together at Buffalo Wild Wings. The only requirement? A bowtie! Meet at 6pm at the building.
Spa and Movie Day (Friday) – From 11a until 2p, Girls of all ages are invited to join Joy for a Spa and Movie day at the church building. Sign up in the foyer by Wednesday. Bring $3 for pizza. See Joy for more details.
Fall Festival (Saturday) - People of ALL ages are invited to the home of Brock and Leslie Owens. Trunk or Treat will start at 4:30pm followed by dinner at 6pm. Please bring sandwiches, soups, desserts (NO NUTS), can drinks, and lawn chairs. You can leave the drinks in the annex to be picked up before Saturday. If you would like to donate money for some carnival type games for the kids, you can give to Brock or Leslie.
Nursing Home Candy Delivery (Sunday) – 5th Grade and down will meet at the annex at 1:45pm to make candy bags that will be delivered by the kids to the nursing home. Kids - please wear your costumes.
CHALLENGE YOUTH CONFERENCE: If you are planning to attend CYC this year (Feb. 24-26), we are needing to get a head count so that we can book a cabin. Please let us know by SUNDAY if you are interested in going. You can use the sign up sheet or sign up online at REGISTER HERE.
NORTH ALABAMA FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT: The NAFFT will be held on Saturday, November 19 in Cullman, AL at Heritage Park. If you would like to play, please sign up no later than Wednesday, November 9th. The tournament is open to 5th grade and up including adults. Each team is required to have adults, males, and females to play. For more information visit the NAFFT website. *WE ARE IN NEED OF ADULTS TO PLAY*
