Finish 2016 Strong with the West Orange Chamber

By Rob Maphis, WOCC Chairman

Rob Maphis, WOCC Chairman

Although this year will soon be coming to a close and the holiday season is right around the corner, your West Orange Chamber of Commerce is still hard at work continuing the success of 2016. Last week, the Chamber Board Members had their annual Board Retreat in Daytona to lay out plans for the future. It was a fantastic planning session that included introduction of new Board members, discussion on exciting new initiatives for the Chamber and strategic planning to take the organization through 2021 – and beyond. The wheels are definitely in motion for another successful year for the Chamber and the West Orange business community!

West Orange continues to be one of the fastest growing regions in the country and, as is proven time and again, there is no better organization to support the prosperity of this community than WOCC. The Chamber will soon celebrate its 45th year, and there have been tremendous leaders and business partners who formed and cultivated the success of this organization. These four decades of leadership have resulted in tremendous experience and strong connection to the cities, towns and neighborhoods that make up West Orange. Our team and leadership will continue to grow the Chamber membership as the region flourishes, facilitating mutually beneficial connections between new businesses, burgeoning companies, longtime members and pillars of the community.

OCPS VoteYour vote made a big difference for Orange County students
In November 2014, Orange County voters renewed a 1 mill property tax increase for four years to preserve academic programs, retain highly qualified teachers, and protect arts, athletics and student activities. Thanks to your support, the students of Orange County are much better off than they would have been. You will see that while regular state funding has increased slightly in recent years, it still falls short when compared to inflation. However, thanks to the additional 1 mill, OCPS has been able to maintain a high level of service. View full-size graphic
