Please join the Atlantic Council, the Charles Koch Institute, Johns Hopkins SAIS, University of Pennsylvania, and the Foreign Policy Research Institute for a one day event, titled, "New Dawn: Russia and the West after the US Presidential Elections" on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Atlantic Council headquarters (1030 15th Street NW, 12th Floor, West Elevators). This conference will take place shortly before the election and will focus on how US-Russia policy has changed as a result of the election campaign, whether the sanctions regime will be maintained, and how the next president should address Russia. General Philip Breedlove, former NATO supreme allied commander of Europe, will deliver a keynote address.

This conference comes at what may prove to be a turning point in US-Russia relations. With the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Syria, the rise of far-right political parties in Europe and their ideological affiliation with the Kremlin, and alleged Russian interference in the US presidential election, the next US president will need a clear and definitive strategy for addressing Putin's Russia. The Atlantic Council, along with its partners, will convene the top experts in the field to discuss these challenges and to make recommendations on what the next administration should prioritize in their Russia policy.
