Caramel Cream Ale
Appreciation Month

November is Caramel Cream Ale Month at Due South, with some awesome deals and events planned at some of our favorite retailers.

When was the last time you had a Caramel Cream Ale? This November, we are striving to get everyone to get their hands on this one of a kind beer we've had on tap since day one. That's why we will be serving up 16 ounce pours of this delectable beer for $4, all month.

In addition, brewery staff will be on site at select retailers this month to help showcase this wonderful beer. Keep an eye on social media, especially our Facebook page, for details about where you can find pint night giveaways, tap takeovers, and sampling events.

Featured Beer

Maple Orange Imperial Caramel Cream Ale

This year, we are celebrating the winter season with the release of our Maple Orange Imperial Caramel Cream Ale.

Big and malty, this beer starts with a base of Imperial Caramel Cream Ale where the brewers add in maple and orange to give it a true North-meets-South flavor profile that we feel represents the season in South Florida. It's a rich and complex addition to your usual cadre of heavy winter stouts.

It's a beer that we last canned in 2014, and are ecstatic to have it back in cans this year. At 8.2% alcohol by volume, it's strong without being overpowering.

You can find cans of this beer in four packs at your local retailer, as well as on draft across South Florida, including our own taproom.

Kaitlyn

This month we're featuring Kaitlyn, one of the members of our bar staff. She's a student who originated from Buffalo, New York, and has been enjoying the South Florida lifestyle ever since making the move.

Why did you choose to work for Due South?
I've been in the service industry since I was 16, so I've had a lot of experience waiting tables and working behind a bar... but Due South is so much more than any establishment I've worked for.

What have you experienced at Due South that's been different than a regular service job?
The craft beer community, especially in South Florida, is constantly changing and growing. I've learned how to educate new visitors on the ins and the outs of the beer, but I've also had the pleasure of meeting beer connoisseurs and other brewery employees around the area who teach me something new every time I meet them.

When I started working for Due South, Stephen told me it was a like a giant family and I truly have made some of my best friends working here and that is probably the greatest part of working for such a cool business, you definitely don't always get that lucky working in service.

You deal with customers face-to-face whenever you're behind the bar. Have you witnessed an exceptional experience?
I had one customer come in and tell me that he was just going through the motions of his job and wasn't overly happy with the way things were turning out for him. He said he observed my energy at the brewery and when he put it into play in his own life he received so much positive feedback and it made his days better to just be happy about life.

I had no idea that just greeting a customer with a smile and a beer and listening to him could help impact his life outside of the brewery.

Where would we find you enjoying a Due South beer?
My favorite place other than Due South to enjoy a beer would probably be my house. Does that count? I have an entire fridge stocked with our different canned beers and I keep them on deck for when out of town friends come over or even just to enjoy on football Sunday's.

I have a handful of friends that come over expecting a new beer each time or even just a Due South beer in general and they get so excited when I have some ready to go!

At Due South, we love our hops. That's why we travel to Washington state every year to work with farmers to get the best hops we can.
