 Cooksey Communications recently received three Platinum honors and two Gold honors in the 2016 MarCom Awards, an international creative competition. 
Platinum Winner – Special Event – Bluestem Park Opening Celebration and Community Event. In partnership with Hillwood Properties, Cooksey created the invitation and other collateral, supported media and community outreach, and drafted the program.

Platinum Winner – Television Placement – Skanska North Texas/Amanda Calvert Internship. Cooksey secured a three-minute segment on Fox 4 News - KDFW-TV about a female intern’s experience working on the job site for The Music Factory, Irving’s highly anticipated entertainment venue.

Platinum Winner – Motion Graphic Video – 2016 Cooksey Creative Reel. Now in its 22nd year in business, Cooksey created a 2.5-minute video to showcase creative and digital services, from a full suite of branding to innovative websites.

Gold Winner – Newspaper Placement – Texas Lures Data Centers, Not for Jobs but for Revenue. Cooksey facilitated an extensive article in the real estate section of The New York Times about the emergence of data centers in North Texas.

Gold Winner – Business to Business Website Design and Development – Mohr Capital Website. Cooksey designed and programmed a fully responsive website that aligns with Mohr Capital's strong brand as a leading commercial real estate investment firm. The site features robust functionality and a vibrant user interface.
Randy E. Pruett joined Cooksey as vice president and account manager in July. He previously worked with Cooksey in 2002-2003. Prior to re-joining Cooksey Communications, Pruett worked for Pierpont Communications for eight years, as well as various security software companies before Pierpont. Read more.
Cooksey hired Mallory Wendel as a senior account executive in June. Before joining Cooksey, Wendel worked at a boutique legal marketing agency and had a prestigious internship with the office of former First Lady Laura Bush. Read more.
Colby Walton, executive vice president/partner, spoke at the City-County Communications and Marketing Association national conference Sept. 9. He discussed “Branding and a Ball of String: What Community Brands, Communications Pros and Kittens Have in Common.”
 
Founder and president Gail Cooksey gave the luncheon keynote at the International Association of Business Communicators/Dallas annual conference Sept. 15. The title of her presentation was “Good or Bad, Your Communications Will Define You.”
 
Jason Meyer, executive vice president/partner, is participating in Leadership North Texas 2016-17, a graduate-level leadership program aimed at recruiting, developing and supporting leaders who have a commitment to civic engagement, to learning, to collaboration and to the Dallas-Fort Worth region.

The Texas Education Agency has designated Cooksey a registered provider of continuing education for school board members.

Bell Helicopter Fort Worth Alliance Air Show Soared Into DFW
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron and the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet Tactical Demonstration Team soared through the skies at the Bell Helicopter Fort Worth Alliance Air Show Oct. 15-16 at Fort Worth Alliance Airport. This world-class air show attracted some 125,000 people.
Frisco Station Development Launches with Office Groundbreaking
The Frisco Station Partnership launched development of Frisco Station with a groundbreaking for the project’s first office building Oct. 18. Local dignitaries and national business leaders, including Ross Perot, Jr., Larry Van Tuyl and Frisco Mayor Maher Maso, discussed Frisco Station’s anticipated economic impact in Frisco and North Texas with the guests and media.
Polsinelli Celebrates 5th Anniversary in Dallas Market
The Dallas office of Polsinelli, an Am Law 100 law firm and Cooksey client, celebrates its 5th anniversary in the DFW market with a client appreciation event Oct. 27.
