Give Thanks.

Every year approximately 46 million turkeys are killed to be centerpieces on Thanksgiving tables. Which is why each holiday season Pasado’s Safe Haven hosts an annual Thanksgiving for the Turkeys as a compassionate alternative. 

The turkeys will be our special guests at this heartfelt event, while their human friends get to enjoy a special, gourmet vegan meal in their honor.

This year, we are happy to be partnering with Chef Sam from Sam’s Plant Based Kitchen, who will prepare a delicious four-course vegan lunch and dinner made with local ingredients. Our adorable turkeys will be gobbling and showing off all their feathers alongside the holiday joy and festive treats. 

In addition to spending time with our turkeys, you will also get to visit with a few of our other charming residents at the sanctuary and enjoy a small silent auction filled with one-of-a-kind holiday gifts.

CATS: Urgent Need to Adopt!

Are you thinking about adopting a cat? We could use your help now!  Kitty City is nearing capacity after our team conducted three separate large-scale hoarding rescues.  Adopting one of these cats will not only help that individual find a loving home, but will also help the cats who still need time at our sanctuary to adjust and heal. Please urge friends, family, and co-workers to fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Millions of turkeys stuck in the food production industry suffer immensely each year, and by participating in our Animal Sponsorship Program you will help us provide care for the turkeys and other animals who have been rescued and are healing at our sanctuary. Preparing for Storm Season

It’s officially storm season...and that means an increase in scared and lost dogs. Check out the following tips for keeping your four-legged friends safe: Microchip them, keep tags and contact info. current, securely leash them for walks, and keep them warm and dry inside the house during bad weather. And it is always a good idea to have extra food, meds and water on hand. Stay safe everyone!!

Barty: Ready for Home!

Barty is an affectionate, happy cat who always has time for a snuggle. Barty cannot wait to find a loving home where he can spend his day stretched out and relaxed. He always looks up inquisitively at visitors, hoping to get a scratch under the chin. He gets along well with other cats, but is content with a loving human who will curl up with him on the couch. A Happy "Tail" for Ryan!

When Ryan was rescued he was just a tiny little gosling. He grew up surrounded by people who loved him and did his best to befriend the other geese and ducks at the sanctuary. He spent most of his time with the ducks, herding them, protecting them - determined that he was their caretaker. He was recently adopted by a wonderful family with ducks of their own. Ryan took to them quickly and now loves to watch over them and love them like his own! Congratulations Ryan!
