2. Magnolian of the month
The Magnolia Committee decided to announce a Magnolian of the Month in order to introduce all the movers and shakers to the club, based on any form of service/contribution or achievement.

For the month of October 2016 we will award this to Leslie Linström. Leslie is one of those members who actively participates in club activities and who are always willing to assist with club runs and other club events. Leslie puts a great amount of effort into making club runs fun and even get his whole family to assist.

We invite all Magnolians of the month to join us for the club braai on the first Tuesday of the month to celebrate this achievement. You are welcome to bring all you friends and family. The next club braai will be on Tuesday 1 November.

ALL RUNNERS WELCOME!! The Sunday runs are not just for Magnolia members but for the whole running community.
 
 
The Sunday runs form a significant part of the success of the club. We kindly invite you to assist us again by presenting a Sunday run.  The club provides all the refreshments and will also provide a route. Volunteers can contact our club captain Dewald Muller mullerdewald@yahoo.com (071 528 9614) or Rudolf van Wyk Rudolf.vanWyk@aecom.com (082 054 8586) if you are interested in doing a Sunday run.
4. Tuesday club social braai
Every first Tuesday of the month Magnolia hosts a very informal social club braai. You are welcome to bring your meat, snacks, friends and the rest of the family for a braai. We provide the fires. Everyone is welcome!!
Our next braai is 1 November 2016!!!

5. Clubtent
The next club tent will be at:
  • The Irene King Price Race on Saturday 29 October
  • The Tom Jenkins Challenge on Saturday 19 November
The club tent will be at all Pretoria races on weekends unless specified otherwise. There will not be a club tent at races on Wednesdays. 
All members are invited once again to make use of the gazebo at the races. The gazebo is there for all members to enjoy. Dirk Olivier is our dedicated “gazebo man” and have been appointed to support us at most races. Cold drinks and snacks are provided by the club. Beer/ciders will be available at no cost at races with a distance of 32km and more, otherwise beer/ciders will be sold for R15.

6. Magnolia Awards and AGM -  Saturday 12 November

All our Magnolia members and their families are invited to join us as we celebrate the achievements of our runners and walkers and celebrate the end of the year as a club at our Magnolia Awards/Annual General Meeting Evening.

Date: 12 November 2016
Time: 18:00 for 18:15
Place: Magnolia Clubhouse, 229 Middel street, Nieuw Muckleneuk

Come join us with 2016 Comrades winner Charne Bosman as guest speaker. Light finger snacks will be served after the awards ceremony and Dirk’s bar will also be open for drinks.

Kindly RSVP to juliemunnik@gmail.com before 7 November. Also provide dietary requirements if necessary and the number of people attending.

ALL MAGNOLIA MEMBERS are required to go check their details on the ASA website under the following link https://asa.saclubs.co.za/register

We still have numerous Magnolia members who have not registered or arranged their transfers from other clubs. We created profiles for some of those members who have not done so. These members can either use their name or ID number as password to log in.

Please help us smooth out the registration process for 2017 by making sure all your details are correct and that you are in fact registered.
 
9. Tuesday runs
Every Tuesday there will be a running group at the club doing a training run. It could vary from hill training, stairs or Fort Klapperkop, depending on the crowd.
We will be starting at 17:00 from the club house. 
Join us for a beer afterwards at the club house.

10. Thursday Time Trials
Magnolia has joined forces with the Phobians time trial on Thursdays.
Due to the traffic around our club, time trials have become dangerous and thus Phobians have welcomed us to their time trials. There is a 4km and 8km route.
Their time trials work on a time chip system and the club will buy chips for those members who are interested.
We encourage all members from Magnolia to join us on a Thursdays at 17:30 at Pretoria High School Old Boys Club (378 Queens Crecent, Lynnwood).

Magnolia members are welcome to buy these Magnolia caps at R100 per cap. The caps have arrived and are available at the club house and limited stock will be available at the club tent during races.The clubhouse is open on Tuesdays from 17:00.

If you have any runners doing the Marathon in Kaapsehoop - Nelspruit Mpumulanga on 4/5 November and they are still looking for accommodation then they can contact me.

I have dorm style accommodation available, I can take 12 people on 12 single beds.
Rates R 240.00 pp per night. But if you book all the beds for both nights under the club I will give them to you at R 200 pp, per night.
I have 3 sections. So I can take male and female.
1 section has 6 beds, the other 2 sections 3 beds each.

I have cooking facilities available. But we just don't provide cutlery.
But everybody is welcome to bring everything they would like to eat and drink.
We are located at the edge of the village. It is very quiet and peaceful here
Please advice ASAP if you have any runners interested.

I have the following at my venue:

- social / event section
- cooking facilities
- outside seating areas
- garden
