 Church of the Damascus Road. We will be collecting Christmas cards for the Church of the Damascus Road prison ministry this month. Each year Pastor Dan Lund provides cards to the men to send to their families. Please bring boxes of Christmas cards during November and place them on the Outreach table. We will also collect money to buy socks to include in a Christmas bag for each prisoner (more details soon). Please consider these opportunities to provide a blessing to these men during the Christmas season.

 Thanksgiving food drive. Again this year we will be collecting food for the Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry, a ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Irving. Pick up an empty basket at church along with a list of suggested items. Please select from the list (all nonperishable) and return the filled baskets to church by Sunday, November 13. They will be delivered to the pantry on Thursday, November 17, at 10:00 a.m. (delivery volunteers will be needed).
Pastor Brad Carroll has also invited us to help serve at Good Shepherd's annual community Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, November 19, 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Over 300 neighbors are served at the dinner each year. Good Shepherd is located at 2620 West Grauwyler Road in Irving, about a mile southeast of Irving Mall.

 Men's breakfast. The Men’s Group meets for breakfast the first Saturday of each month. For November, the breakfast will be at IHOP in Southlake on November 5 at 8:00 a.m. All men are invited!

 Daylight Saving Time ends this Saturday. Be sure to set your clocks back an hour and enjoy the extra sleep.

 Torchy's with Taylor for Middle Schoolers (6-8 grade). Our middle schoolers are invited to join Taylor for lunch at Torchy's after worship this Sunday, November 6. Parents are invited as well—we just might make you sit at a separate table ;). Enjoy some great chips, queso, and fellowship. We'll head there after church and hang out until we have nothing left to talk about.

 Advent Dinner and Variety Show. Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 4, for the annual Advent Dinner and Variety Show. The Fellowship Committee is asking that individuals who would like to perform in the variety show sign up at church.

 Women's cruise. The deadline has been extended for signing up for the Abiding Grace ladies cruise on March 30–April 3, 2017, out of Galveston to Cozumel aboard Carnival's Liberty.
