ClimeFish Case Studies
ClimeFish will explore how the most important and the less resilient exploited European fish stocks and the most productive established aquaculture species respond to the different climate scenarios. ClimeFish addresses three production sectors: marine aquaculture, marine fisheries and lake and pond production, including 16 case studies that involves more than 25 species.

Climate-ADAPT
ClimeFish is listed among the projects of the European Climate Adaptation Platform, Climate-ADAPT. This platform aims to support Europe in adapting to climate change by sharing data and information on the projected magnitude and effects of climate change in Europe as well as to provide strategies, options and tools to support adaptation planning. |

We made a movie!
The first ClimeFish movie illustrates the effects climate changes may have on fisheries and aquaculture in Europe the next 50 years. The movie was made by Ørjan Garfjell, starring Marie-Anne Blanchet.at UiT, The Arctic University of Norway.

Partners
The ClimeFish consortium brings together 17 research organisations, 1 SME, 1 stakeholder federation (aquaculture) and 2 international organisations, the FAO and ICES. 13 European countries and 3 non-European States – Canada, Chile and Vietnam – are also represented.

Stakeholder actions in 2016
The first stakeholder meeting was held in Vigo in Spain, 28th of September 2016 to discuss the ClimeFish Decision Support Framework (DSF).
The ClimeFish DSF is a web-based toolbox that will support seafood production in Europe under climate change conditions. Read more here. |

CERES, the sister project of ClimeFish
The two projects use complimentary approaches to provide tools and develop strategies allowing fisheries and aquaculture sectors and their governance to adapt to, and hopefully benefit from, climate change. Although the projects were developed separately, we are working hard to combine forces to make the best conditions possible for future Blue Growth in the aquaculture and fisheries sectors.
