What Next: Britain After Brexit

"If you agree we want a society where 'taking control' means our being capable of shaping a future with the rest of the world, not one where we are 'controlled' by our past like a straight-jacked, then we need to understand why Brexit happened, what it means and how we build a future we want."

Anthony Barnett (co-founder of OpenDemocray) will be giving a lunchtime seminar as a book workshop for his next work WHAT NEXT, a call to action after the results of June 24th.

This will be held on Wednesday 2 November, and will take place at 12:30pm in the European Studies Centre seminar room.

Wingwalking for MS

Cathy Ridge-Collins, a longstanding member of St Antony's Stewarding team, will be wingwalking on the 22 of April, 2017 in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

In her own words: "I was diagnosed with MS in 2008, I am very lucky to have it very mild. I am doing a wing walk to raise money for the MS Society, and have a goal of £1,000."

Further information about the cause, as well as information on how to support, can be found on Cathy's Just Giving page.

The Surprising Evolution of the Climate Regime

On Monday October 31, Dr Tom Hale (Associate Professor, Blavatnik School of Government and Fellow of St Antony's College) will be giving a lecture titled 'From Gridlock to Catalyst', and will be discussing the changing environmental political landscape.

Dr Hale's research explores how transnational problems cam be managed effectively and fairly. He seeks to explain how political institutions evolve - or not - to face the challenges raised by globalisation and interdependance, with a particular emphasis on environmental and economic issues.

The lecture will be held at 5pm in Seminar Room 1, Oxford Department of International Development, Mansfield Road, all members of St Antony's are welcome.
