Pittsburgh Power Softball is a nonprofit organization
dedicated to promoting excellence in girl’s fast pitch softball. They
focus on helping players develop skills while building confidence,
self-esteem, mental discipline, leadership and personal growth that will
allow them to play competitively at their highest level. The Power
Organization strives to teach the value of success on and off the field
through the spirit of sportsmanship, hard work, determination and
dedication through the game of softball.

Last year, the organization held their 3-day tournament Battle in The
Burgh in Butler County. This tournament brought 143 teams ages 10 to 18
and this year they’re adding 8U. Teams from several states and Canada
played at five locations and utilized 18 fields. Pittsburgh Power Softball
is a division of The Greater Pittsburgh Girls Softball League (GPGSL) and
is looking for local sponsor’s to help with this year’s tournament.

Next years event dates for the 2017 Battle in the Burgh are June 30 - July 2, 2017.

Recent Events
11th Annual Buffalo Creek Half Marathon
It was another successful year for The Butler-Freeport Trail Council with 952 runners on October 15th. It was a chilly start to the morning, but perfect running conditions. The sun came out early which made for a beautiful fall foliage race. All proceeds from this event support the maintenance, construction, and promotion of the Butler Freeport Community Trail - a 21 mile rail trail.
