Dear Families,

First of all I want to thank everyone for their participation in International Night. This is one of the many student-led community events that makes Saint Francis Xavier School so special.  It brings me so much joy to see our students working hard, both individually and in teams, to complete these larger projects.  The chance to have friends and family join us at school to celebrate the students’ accomplishments makes it that much more special.

In the coming week we have two very important days, back to back, with very different agendas.  On Monday we will celebrate Halloween.  It is a chance for students to embrace their creative side and have some fun. It will be filled with celebrations and treats.  As always, please be safe if you plan to go trick or treating.  I ask that in the days following Halloween, you help limit the amount of candy your students bring to school.  While there is nothing wrong with a small treat, an excess of Snickers or Skittles (to name a few favorites!) can distract students from being successful.  I do look forward to seeing the Halloween spirit in full effect on Monday.

On Tuesday we celebrate All Saints’ Day.  On this day we honor the examples of faith that have come before us.  Father Gratton is always reminding us that we are all called to be saints.  This day allows us an opportunity to reflect and talk about the important traits that all saints have.  It is also a Holy Day of Obligation and we will be attending Mass as a school community.  This day helps us continue our Catholic mission and provides food for thought to all of our young students as they work to become saints.

Both days give us an opportunity to come together as a community and show our unique personalities.  I am excited for students to be involved with both.  Please have a safe and restful weekend.

God Bless,

Eric Becker

Box Tops
Congratulations to Grade 2 and Grade 6 on winning our Box Top Competition! An amazing job was done by all, with the school bringing in a total of over 4,600 Box Tops. Those little cuttings of paper and cardboard will turn into $466 cash for SFX, which will directly benefit our kids and the resources they use within the school. As an example, last year Box Top proceeds were used to help buy a new and much-needed milk cooler in the lunchroom.

Box Tops can be found on many product packages that you may already buy, and they are easy to clip out and save. Each Box Top is worth just 10¢, but they add up so quickly. The more families that participate, the more we can earn. Our goal this year is to reach 10,000 Box Tops. Parents, grandparents, friends, and even neighbors can all help us reach that goal. When you see a package with a Box Top, please take just a few seconds to clip it out. There is a collection tote in the lobby; as long as your bag/envelope is labeled with your child’s grade, credit will be given toward the next competition which will start in January.

If you would like more information about the Box Top program, or to see a listing of participating products, visit their website at www.btfe.com. Feel free to email Sue Lajeunesse at lajeunessefamily@comcast.net. Thank you for your participation!

Meadow Farms - We only need to sell 30 more items to receive 50% of our total sales!
We have extended the selling deadline to October 31st.  If we can sell 30 more items, then we can receive 50% of our total sales instead of 45%.  This is a great opportunity to raise a little extra money.  Flyers/order forms will be going home with your students next week.  In the meantime, you can ask friend and family members to place orders online at www.meadowfarms.com and click the circle: Start Shopping.  Then, click the blue Online Shopping tab.  Enter code: 0431954 (where it says enter student ID) and start shopping.  Order forms can also be printed and filled out: Meadowfarms Order Form

4 Days of Fudge Sales!
There are only 4 days left in the Snowflake Chocolate Fudge for Funds sale. Each box sells for $10.  Choice of flavors are Chocolate, Chocolate Walnut, Peanutbutter, Maple, and Maple Walnut.  Snowflake Chocolates makes our fudge to order so it is the freshest it can be. All ingredients are local Vermont products. Once delivered, to preserve freshness, the fudge may be frozen to give as gifts at Christmas or New Years. Additional order forms are available with  Ms. Nancy but time is limited. Orders are due back to school, with payment, on Tuesday, November 1st.

Girls on the Run 2017

We still have a few vendor spots left at the Craft Fair
