"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever."

-1 Chronicles 16:34
WILBERSEN is the oldest of the three siblings who joined us in November 2014. His little sisters are Bethsaida and Ledinancia. Now that Wilbersen feels secure in his Child Hope family and is learning how deep the Father's love is for him, his happy, fun, and eager personality can shine bright! He is working very hard to learn English, and doing well at school.  We are thankful to have this sweet young man as a part of our family. Please pray for him, that he would continue growing in his faith and that he would develop in the gifts and talents that God has given him.
Wilbersen is currently 60% sponsored to cover his basic needs such as food, clothing, clean drinking water, education, and medical care. Click on the button below to sponsor him and become a part of his story!

Haiti Director Transition

At the end of October we said goodbye to Noel & Lori Tugwell, our Interim Directors in Haiti.  They had big shoes to fill, stepping in after the Manasseros, but they loved and cared for the children with open hearts and we could not have been more blessed.

Here is a note from Lori:
WOW – what a wonderful nearly 18 months we have had getting to know the children and ministry of Child Hope that was started by our close friends, Bill and Susette Manassero.   When our friends asked us to step in to their shoes in the Spring 2015 – it was with much prayer that we said YES.  We have grown to love the children, staff and leadership of Child Hope and consider it a wonderful privilege to have been involved in this life changing and life giving ministry. These have been some of the most meaningful times in the life of our family.  We have been blessed beyond measure to have been entrusted with the ministry of Child Hope.  Thank you!  With mixed emotions, at this time we believe God is sending us back to minister His gospel in our heart language and in our own culture.  We will be pursuing work and ministry in the Physical Therapy field (Noel) and at home as wife and Mom (Lori).  We are returning to our community of friends in Northwest Arkansas and look forward to what the Lord has next for our family.   Thank you to ALL of our Child Hope family – in Haiti and abroad – you have loved our family well and we are looking forward to staying connected for years to come!

As the adage goes, every ending is a new beginning.  We are excited to welcome Spencer and Risa Reeves as the new Haiti Directors.  Spencer and Risa's involvement with Child Hope began back in 2010 when they led a team to do relief work. In 2012, the Reeves family moved to Haiti to work alongside Child Hope, where Spencer worked as Team Coordinator.  After that first year, they decided to branch out and serve with Ambassadors Football hosting summer soccer camps and mid-week soccer clinics, sharing the Gospel through sport.  During that time Spencer has also served the last two years on the board at Quisqueya Chapel working to help build the local church.  In 2016, Risa partnered with World Vision coordinating the very first Movement Day, in Port Au Prince.  Risa continues to homeschool all three children.  We are so blessed to have them working with us again!

Hired, Part 2!

We are beyond excited to announce Clermond has his first job! Clermond is working three days a week at a local cafe and is beaming with gratitude and excitement. His job covers everything from food prep to general cleaning of the cafe. His favorite thing is "going all mad-scientist" with making smoothies. But he definitely stays away from the grill. Nobody wants to burn burgers at their first job!! Clermond is so thankful for this opportunity and says it “feels good to have a sense of responsibility and maturity.” He plans on saving every dollar to go towards life once he graduates from Child Hope. Please pray for Clermond in this new exciting season! Pray that he would learn responsibility in new ways, how to balance priorities like work and school, and that he would have the boldness to be a light in his work place, even as the new guy!

Goodbye Hannah!

For the last three months we have had the absolute joy and privilege to have Hannah interning with us. We would have to write a novel if we tried thanking her for everything she contributed in her time here! We couldn’t have gotten through these last few months without her incredibly selfless and hard working spirit. On top of teaching and looking after the Tugwell kids, Hannah also blessed our girls with teaching ballet classes every week. What a sweet gift it was to see our girls learn to stretch, leap, spin, and be creative. Thank you so much Hannah for your generous, strong love for the Lord and Child Hope. You will be greatly missed, cherie!

Giving Tuesday Update

On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, Child Hope participated in Giving Tuesday.  Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to giving and is an alternative to the big spending days of the season, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

We are so moved by the generosity of our friends and family who helped us raise $23,735!  We received a matching gift of $8,000, bringing our total to $31,735!  We cannot thank you enough for your support.

New 2017 Dates Added!

"Vin Aprann," literally translates to "Come Learn," in Haitian Creole. And that is exactly what we want to invite you, your friends, and your family members to do...come to Haiti, and learn about the ministry of Child Hope, and about the many other ways that God is working here!

Visit our website to learn more, and sign-up today if you are interested in participating, as space is limited. Check out this short video to get a taste of what the week might look like!

Prayer Requests

  • STAFF | Pray for Spencer and Risa as they settle into their new role with Child Hope.  Pray that God will comfort them through the transition.  Pray for the Tugwells as they return to life in Arkansas, that they would use what God taught them while living in Haiti to minister to the people they encounter.
  • EMPLOYMENT| Please pray for our graduates who found work last month, and Clermond who is starting his first job this month, that they would "work at it with all their hearts" (Col 3:23) and experience the joy of using their God-given talents.
  • HAITI | There is still so much devastation in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.  Please pray that God would continue healing those who have suffered and lost much.  Also pray for peace as the country awaits the results of their election.
Give to Child Hope
