What’s New at R2R - Fall 2016

Summer has come and gone, fall is well underway, and soon snow will fly.  Changing seasons go perfectly with the happenings at Reefs to Rockies. Yes, that’s right, R2R has grown again! Last month, Wes Perry joined our team.  He, along with Amy Englert, is helping us build a more inclusive travel portfolio to offer you.

Amy brings a strong background in field biology and Wes comes to us with experience guiding wilderness trips and in tourism management.  Both bring enthusiasm for travel to the world’s best wildlife and nature hotspots! Amy just returned from a scouting trip to India and Wes is in Colombia this week. Keep an eye out for upcoming trip reports and photo blogs from them both.

In the next few months, we’ll be expanding our website to feature a variety of new travel experiences including wildlife expedition cruises (Arctic, Antarctic, Amazon, Asia), trekking (orangutans, jaguars, snow leopards), and more.

Where will you go next?

Featured Trip:

Uganda Safari w/ Optional Rwanda Extension
(Tree climbing lions, chimpanzees, and gorillas)

Trip Highlights
Uganda was described as ‘the pearl of Africa’ by Winston Churchill and it is easy to see why!

Nestled between the arms of the Great Rift Valley, Uganda is where East African savannah meets West African Jungle. This harmonious situation provides a unique opportunity for safaris. Where else but in this enchanting country can you venture into open savannah and observe lions relaxing under an acacia tree in the morning, then in the afternoon enjoy the sight of hippos and crocs enjoying the cool waters whilst you cruise down the Nile?

The adventure doesn’t stop there, for the very next day you can journey into the lush rainforests to track chimpanzees and the highlight of your safari may be a visit to see one of man’s closest relatives, the mountain gorilla. Staring deep into the eyes of these endangered apes will be a time treasured and not easily forgotten.
