Leopard Leaders are Celebrating Literacy
The Leopard Leaders are sponsoring a literacy character day on Monday, October 31st. Students have been learning about character traits in their literacy classes which is linked to Common Core Standards: Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text, including its relationship to the characters, setting, and plot; provide an objective summary of the text.
As part of the learning, the Leopard Leaders are sponsoring a Spirit Day in which students are able to dress like their favorite literacy character. This is optional for all students, however the discussion around character traits will be part of the lesson for that day and all students will be expected to discuss their character and how their traits, actions and emotions are part of the story. Please do not have masks, props or weapons as part of the accessories. Please be sure that if your child has PE they have the appropriate shoes.
