Here’s your weekly dose of FIVER FRIDAY, a list of what I've found useful or informational this week concerning education.

Documentary I'm watching--

Hamilton's America on PBS. As I've shared before, I'm a huge fan of Hamilton. This behind the scenes look at the Broadway musical is both informative and entertaining, and anyone who teaches American history would benefit from this doc because the music from Hamilton brings the story alive for students in a new and exciting way.

Shows I'm watching--

Westworld on HBO. This pairs well with the show Black Mirror. the third season of which was just released on Netflix. The thing I like about these series is not so much what they say about technology, but what they say about us as technology becomes more and more ubiquitous. As technology changes us, what does that mean in the field of education? How is technology changing the way we all learn? 

Book I'm reading--

The Inevitable by Kevin Kelly. I'm a big fan of Kevin Kelly's last book, What Technology Wants, and I've really enjoyed reading The Inevitable. Here's an excerpt from the beginning: "We are morphing so fast that our ability to invent new things outpaces the rate we can civilize them." Word. 

Post I'm re-reading--

Maker's Schedule, Manager's Schedule by Paul Graham. In this classic blog post, learn the differences between people who create and people who follow a manager's schedule.
