As you know, our FastTrack summer program for recently graduated seniors is part of our our ATD student success initiative. FastTrack students participate in a free intensive six-week course of study that focuses on English and Math and enables them to earn credit for ORI 110.
“The success of this program is due to the people who have worked so hard to collaborate and coordinate this effort,” said Dr. Steve Calatrello, Interim Vice-President for Academic Affairs. “It’s a partnership that involves our advising team, adult education instructors, and our developmental education departments. We are fortunate to have such a dynamic, dedicated team.”
FastTrack participants have GPAs 15% higher than those of students testing into developmental education classes who don’t enroll in FastTrack and are close to all first-time freshmen; they are retained at a 25% higher rate than general developmental education students and at an 8% higher rate than all first-time freshmen. They have success rates in English 68% higher than those in developmental education without FastTrack intervention, and 8% higher that all first-time freshmen; in Math, they have success rates 32% higher than those in developmental education classes without FastTrack intervention, and they are close to the success rates of all first-time freshmen.
For more information on the FastTrack program, contact Kelly Morris at extension 2602.
