Viva l'Italia!

Last month, I was thrilled to spend two weeks in Italy.  One of my favorite parts of the trip was the time I spent in beautiful Venice.   It doesn't matter how many movies or photographs you have seen, nothing can compare to the total awe-inspiring experience of seeing gondolas in the canals and Venetian architecture. Even though this was my second visit to Venice, it is almost impossible to find the words to describe this amazing city!

Venice is made up of more than 100 little islands interconnected by canals and bridges.  Two of my favorite areas of Venice were Murano and Burano.  A visit to these islands seems to send you back in time to a quieter, more laid-back atmosphere. Read more about Murano and Burano on my blog

And did I mention the food and drink?  Gelato, pizza, espresso, traditional fish dishes, gnocchi, tiramisu, wine... need I go on?

Happy Travels!

"The trip was amazing! I would only stay at Excellence every time I go to Punta Cana. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. The shows were fun! The beach was immaculate. The room was very comfortable. We are already thinking about going for our 5 year anniversary and renewing vows. Thank you for the great suggestion! We will be using your agency in the future for sure.." - S.E.

This Month's Travel Tip

When traveling outside the US it is important to understand what travel documents you require to enter your destination country and to return home to the US.  Make sure you have a passport that is valid for 6 months after you return home and has at least 2 blank pages.  Also, make sure to check the validity of the whole families passports. Adult passports have 10-year expiry dates but children's only have 5 years.  It is also beneficial to have a letter from your doctor for any medications you need to travel with.

When traveling alone with children you may be required to provide custody documentation and/or written consent from the other parent.  When in doubt, talk to your travel agent who will be able to provide you with a list of the documentation you will need when traveling.

Belmond La Samanna - St. Martin

One of my favorite resorts in the Caribbean is the Belmond La Samanna Resort in St Martin.

I loved the long stretch of  white beach which was great for my morning walks, the incredible wine cellar where they hosted my birthday dinner, and our accommodations of a  fabulous 4 bedroom villa with private pool.

Our private concierge and maid made our stay relaxing and enjoyable and even went grocery shopping for us. There were a ton of fun watersports such as snorkeling and jet-skiing.  I felt like a princess in paradise.

I was fascinated by the island which has the French side and the Dutch side. The French side has amazing restaurants with the local French cuisine and the Dutch side is more lively and entertaining with casinos and clubs. A perfect mix for everybody!
