Baltimore Mitigation Training:
Registration is now open!
We hope that you will join us for the first workshop in our Baltimore Mitigation Training series, to be held at the University of Baltimore on February 10 - 11, 2017. Registration is available here. Please note that you will be asked to register as either an active practitioner or a prospective practitioner - while we hope to be able to accommodate everyone who is interested in the training, we are prioritizing those with active cases.
This will be a two-day primer on foundational topics such as client and witness interviews, record searches, the creation of key case documents, and other critical issues. Confirmed speakers so far include Joanna Adjoian, Kelly Branham, Melanie Carr, Dana Cook, Hope Hill, PhD, Danalynn Recer, and Jessica Sutton, in addition to ARC, Inc. staff members John Fox and Elizabeth Vartkessian, PhD.
Providing this training at no cost to participants is important to us because we believe that mitigation investigation is one of the most effective tools available to defenders working on behalf of vulnerable clients. At the same time, we know that there is much work to do to raise awareness of its potential and to help defenders develop the skills and techniques needed to uncover and present mitigation evidence effectively to decision-makers. We hope that we will see you there - and feel free to spread the word using one of the links below!
