Fall Sessions

Fall is a busy time for family photo sessions and this fall was no exception. The leaves are almost off the trees now but there is a bit of colour left in some places. Let me know asap if you want an outdoor  family photo session. I don't have any times left on weekends, but I have do some times free during the week.
Here are a couple of images from last weekend.

Weekends

I love summer and spending time at Victoria Beach on the weekends. For that reason, I limit my weekend sessions during the summer. With fall here, I will open up more times on the weekend. But, if you are in the area of Victoria Beach, I would love to do a family session  at the beach! There are a lot of beaches in the East Beaches area and what would be better than some photographs at your summer retreat?

Holiday Sessions

Christmas (holiday) is another great time for getting family pictures done. I've ordered some new backdrops that I'm looking forward to using.  Let me know if you would like to book a holiday session. I can't accommodate more than about 8 people into my studio, but I am willing to come to your home, book a studio that is larger or do your session at the Legislative Building. The Ledge is always beautifully decorated for Christmas!

Did you know?

Megapixels are not the most important element to consider when buying a new camera. A camera with as few as 7 megapixels can be used for prints as large as 30x40 inches. Camera manufacturers use more megapixels as a marketing tool to convince us to buy the next upgraded camera.

There are more important factors to consider when upgrading your camera like: the size of the sensor, how well it performs in low light, the camera's size and how comfortable it is to hold. Most importantly; ask yourself what are you going to use it for.

And whatever camera you do buy; don't forget to make prints!

Awards

PPOC (The Professional Photographers of Canada) have provincial and national competitions. This year I entered the Saskatchewan and Manitoba competitions and placed with 2 images, receiving a score of "Merit"; (which is the next highest to Excellence) for both.

This one is titled "The Face in the Tatters."

This is "Autumn Palette au Metal."

The best news is that Autumn Palette is up for 2 awards in Manitoba. It was nominated for Best General Photograph and also for Most Creative Photograph. I'll find out on Oct. 29th if I win in either category. If you want to find out, follow me on Facebook or Twitter (links at the top of this newsletters)! Or follow me on my blog: https://cmphotographyblog.com/.

And keep your fingers crossed!

Change of Email Address

I am going to be sending future newsletters from a different email address. I haven't finalized the address, but it won't be coming from gmail. That'sbecause of the security breaches with Yahoo. The program I use will not be allowing anyone to send from a gmail address in the future.

Finally

D

I saw this on Facebook on the same day as the last presidential debate and I wondered how either Trump or Clinton can find manage to avoid negativity. I'm glad I'm not either of them!

Yours in photography,
Christina
