We have a new Supercharger in Childress!

Tesla managed to surprise us with a supercharger in Childress, opening up a direct route to Amarillo via US-287. Most of us with 85s or larger will be able to make Childress, if we're careful, with a 100% charge at Denton. This suggests a Supercharger in Wichita Falls is coming soon.

Also, Tripadvisor (of all places) reported a substantially complete Supercharger at the Holiday Inn Express in Kingsville. That makes a one-way trip to Port Isobel feasible, so look for another Supercharger to come around Harlingen.

We enjoyed the Tesla Saturday Social at Cedar Springs! The subject was Firmware version 8. What was surprising was how many of us don't have it yet. It was also interesting to hear how many people were annoyed with Slacker prematurely ending a song shortly after you get back in the car.

Anyway, there was lots of good conversation and it was great to see so many new faces!

Don't forget about our road trip to Fossil Rim Nature Center in Glen Rose, Texas!

Fossil Rim is a drive-through nature preserve. Amidst the live oak thickets, limestone outcroppings, and stands of juniper; nestled away in the rustic hills of Somervell County, you will discover a sanctuary for endangered species. The drive in the preserve takes 2-4 hours and after that, we'll have lunch in Glen Rose. The drive in the preserve itself is awesome and it's so much more enjoyable in a silent car.

We've been many times and think this event will be great fun with or without your kids and grandkids.
