DEADLINE IS MIDNIGHT TONIGHT! Submit to Studio Collective
Studio Collective is now accepting work from architecture, industrial design, interior design, landscape architecture, and graphic design students to be published in the Student Work Section of our journal, released in December 2016. 
Work will be judged by a panel of faculty and students, and receives significant recognition if chosen.
Submit by October 24th!
DEADLINE IS SUNDAY! - AIAS T-Shirt Design Competition
You may choose the color of the t-shirt and the two colors within the design. You must include AIAS and 2016 somewhere in the design. You may design the back, the chapter will design the front. Deadline is October 30th flyer

NEW - The student Holiday Card Challenege is finally launching! It's a quick turn-around but we're hopeful that we'll still end up with some great submissions. The website is live now. Submissions are due by November 1st. flyer

SCHOLARSHIPS & OPPORTUNITIES

NEW - Udall Undergraduate Scholarship
The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to Native American nations or to the environment. In 2017, the Udall Foundation anticipates awarding 60 scholarships of up to $7,000 each. Deadline is late January.

NEW - Virginia Tech Faculty Women's Club Scholarship
Each year the VTFWC gives two to three scholarships to Virginia Tech Women who are rising junior and senior students in the amount of $2,000. Criteria includes a 3.0gpa, involvement in the campus community, strong recommendations, and registered as a full time student. Deadline is February 10, 2017. flyer
Now in its eleventh year, the Fellowship provides students with an opportunity to enrich their education with both travel and office experience. The Fellowship is available to undergraduate and graduate students in planning, architecture, landscape architecture or urban design who will be entering their final year of study in September 2017. Hart Howerton defines an 8-week professional internship “assignment” as part of an existing firm project, followed by the Fellow’s self-defined, approved topic of travel study.  The 3-week travel period’s findings are prepared, upon return, as a report presented by the Fellow to the firm. AIA Northern VA Schools Connections Committee is pleased to announce they are accepting entries for the 2016 AIA NOVA Scholarship Fund. Deadline is Friday, November 18th. more

NEW - 2017 Summer Internships
Since 1964 the National Gallery of Art has offered professional museum training to candidates from all background through a variety of internship programs. Nine-week summer internships provide opportunitites to work on projects directed by a Gallery curator or department head. Biweekly museum seminars instrocude interns to the broad spectrum of museum work, and to Gallery staff, departments, programs, and functions. Deadline for applications is January 13, 2017.
NEW - Career and Professional Development is looking for new Peer Advisors (PCAs) for Spring 2017 - We are looking for enthusiastic students to join our team and serve as a vital link between Virginia Tech students and the Career and Professional Development staff, as well as fill essential roles in advising and educating students and providing project and programming assistance to the Career and Professional Development staff. There will be an OPen House Information Session on Wednesday, October 26th for students to meet and hear from current PCAs about their experience. Q&A: 3:30-4pm; Information Session 4-4:30pm; Q&A: 4:30-5pm. Applications are due Monday, November 7th.
