The League of Women Voters of the Bay Area is always looking for observers of some of the regional government agencies. No need to attend in person, all meetings are available online! A very brief summary of any important decisions or actions could then be forwarded to LWVBA. Among the agencies one could chose from are:
- BCDC, the Bay Conservation and Development Commission charged with protecting the Bay;
- MTC, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission which deals with transportation planning for the nine-county Bay Area;
- RWQCB, the Regional Water Quality Control Board which could be very interesting during our drought;
- WETA, SF Bay Water Emergency Transit Authority which deals with ferry services;
- the Bay Area Economic Council Institute which deals with our region's economic climate.
Who knew we had so many regional agencies? Their decisions affect all of us so if you would like to keep track of one or more of them online, please contact our LWVSF representative to LWV Bay Area, Heather Sterner at thesterners@sbcglobal.net.
