Saskatchewan Arts Awards

The Saskatchewan Arts Awards were held on October 16 at the Casino Regina Show Lounge. MAS would like to congratulate all of the recipients. We would especially like to recognize recipients from two of our member museums, Karen Schoonover who recently retired from the Art Gallery of Regina, was awarded Leadership - Individual, and Wendy Peart of the Dunlop Art Gallery, won the Arts and Learning Award. Congratulations!

MAS Resource Library

We are always adding new titles to our library. Materials are available for loan to all members. To check out a book, fill out the  online request form in the members area of our website. Book titles can be browsed in the members area.

Oral History Kits

MAS has Oral History recording kits available for loan to our members. Contact us for more information.

Monitoring Your Collection

We also have 2 Environmental Monitoring Kits for loan to our members. Check out our blog for more information.

January 11: Virtual Museum of Canada's Community Stories Investment Program submission deadline.

The program gives community museums and heritage organizations across the country the opportunity to share stories of their communities online.

November 15: Culture Days Grant Follow-Up Reports Due

If you received Culture Days Funding Assistance (for Projects or Hubs) from SaskCulture in 2016, follow-up reports are due by November 15, 2016; please visit SaskCulture's Online Grant Platform to complete your follow-up reports online.


November 17: Saskatchewan Foundation for the Arts Artists Awards Program Deadline

This program provides financial assistance to Saskatchewan artists to create or develop new work or work in progress. For more information, visit the Saskatchewan Arts Board website.
 

November 30 deadline: Museum Grant Program

SaskCulture's Museum Grant Program (MGP) provides operational funding to help foster strong, vibrant, community-based Saskatchewan museums that are valued and supported by society. Read more.

Community Fund for Canada's 150th

Distribute small grants through community foundations to locally-led projects that build community, inspire a deeper understanding of Canada. Read more.

Documenting Oral History Workshop

The Saskatchewan Archaeological Society (SAS) is offering a workshop on Documenting Oral History, taking place in Regina on November 19, 2016. The workshop will cover topics like the basics of Intangible Cultural Heritage; interview etiquette; and storage and use of materials. Contact SAS by November 9, 2016 to register.


Cultural Planning Workshop

Southeast Connection Sport, Culture & Recreation is hosting a Cultural Planning Workshop on November 25, 2016 in Weyburn.
