We have a record number of sign-ups for parent conferences this year.  Jeanie is working through them and will begin sending confirmation emails next week. Contact Jeanie via email or at x178 with questions.  

STUDENT LIFE

JISP

It's time to register for this year's JISP (Junior Instructional Ski Program) season, run through the Bromley Outing Club at Bromley Mountain. Open to grades 6-8, JISP offers ski and snowboarding instruction from trained volunteers for a nominal fee. For registration forms or to register online, click here. There is now a $50 late registration fee; program registration closes on Nov. 27. 
 
We need parent drivers for JISP at Bromley - Drivers receive discounted passes. Bromley is looking for JISP instructors - Instructors receive free passes. Please contact LTS JISP coordinator Katrina Tyler if interested.

REFUSE TO USE
Event #3 will be held on Thurs., Nov. 10 from 3:15-4:45 pm in the Kiva. This meeting is mandatory for Refuse to Use participants but anyone is welcome to join us! Contact Louise Misasi with any questions.

DOLLAR SKATE
Sunday, November 13

Riley Rink at Hunter Park invites the community to a “Kids Dollar Skate” to benefit LTS on Sun., Nov. 13 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Admission is $1.00 for children 13 and under and $3.00 for 14 and up, skate rentals not included. Enjoy an afternoon of skating and a bake sale while supporting our 8th grade class trip to Montreal. This event is generously donated by The Perfect Wife restaurant and Spiral Press Café. For further information, contact

SUPPORT THE LTS 9TH GRADE DC TRIP BY EATING! 
Tuesday, November 29 from 5:00–7:30 pm

Let the LTS 9th graders wait on you! The 9th grade is having a Washington, DC trip fundraiser at The Barn Restaurant in Pawlet. For only $12 per person, diners will choose from veggie lasagna, roasted chicken with potato and vegetable, or apple cider glazed pork with potato and vegetable. STUDENT RECOGNITION
FOOLS AT THE PARAMOUNT
Congratulations to 11th grader Savannah Hastings on her role as Sophia Zubritsky, a teen caught in a comical love triangle, in Neil Simon's Broadway hit Fools at the Paramount Theater in Rutland Nov. 3-12.  COLLEGE GUIDANCE
TESTING
  • The Dec. 3 SAT has a registration deadline of Nov. 3 with a late deadline of Nov. 22. 
  • The Dec. 10 ACT has a registration deadline of Nov. 4 with a late deadline of Nov. 18.
These are the last tests of 2016.  There is a January SAT.
 
FINANCIAL AID
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, known as the FAFSA, is available. It will use the 2015 tax year and a data retrieval tool to pull information directly from the IRS. These changes will hopefully make the financial aid process easier.
Please check with your prospective colleges on their deadlines.


Seniors need to submit their resumes to Scott Magrath.

ATHLETICS
FALL ATHLETICS BANQUET 
Tuesday, November 15

All students who participated in a fall sport and their families are invited to our athletics banquet. The Barn Restaurant is catering dinner starting at 5:30 pm. Dinner is $5.00 a person or $20.00 per family. CLICK HERE to view the Evite and RSVP if you plan on eating dinner. You may pay at the door. Athletes will be honored in the PAC beginning at 6:00 pm.  Contact Tim Smith with questions.

UNIFORM RETURNS
Please return all uniforms--shirts, shorts and socks---to Tim Smith. Be sure they are laundered and label them with your child's name in case Tim is not in his room when students drop them off. Thank you!

There will be no November LTPA Meeting.  The next meeting is Mon., Jan. 9 at 12:45 pm.
