Hi <<First Name>>

December Newsletter!

That's right folks, December is upon us and we all know what that means - Christmas Jumpers!  Eeek! Run for the hills, save yourself!

Of course at Pasda we really can't get enough of Christmas jumpers and so we would love to see your festive woolen efforts over the next four weeks. We think it would be a great idea to put together a collage of your favourite festive colourful woolens in action! So we want to see your best Christmas jumper photos for our next Newsletter, and we will pick out our favourite - there may even be a prize for the winner!

So get going you happy snappers!

West Lothian Carers Group

West Lothian Carers Group will have a table at the Almond House (Autism Iniatiatives) in Livingston on 7th December. This will be start at 6pm and finish around 8pm.

Sam Radio (Scottish Autistic Media) is an internet radio station funded and set up in Edinburgh by two parents of an autistic son. Their son is a qualified sound engineer who is the station's technician. There are several presenters who all have their own show, for example Sport, Music & special interests. They are live two days a week (Tuesday & Wednesday), and the rest of the week is non-stop music.

They are looking for people to interview and discuss anything related to autism. We would love to hear from any carers and their family member, who would like to voice their concerns for example autism & employment, making the transition from home to independant living. We think this is a wonderful opportunity to communicate with a wider audience. Sam Radio is doing a fantastic job promoting autism and giving people with an ASD a brilliant opportunity to be involved in radio.

LGBTQI Autism Meeting

12:30 pm, 10th December

0131 523 1100

The meeting is open to all adults who identify as any of LGBTQI and as “Autistic” or “Aspergic” (or similar). You do not need to have a medical diagnosis to attend this meeting and those who are self-diagnosed, or are questioning whether or not they are “autistic” or “aspergic” (or similar), are very welcome to attend the meeting.

In the first part of the meeting, they will be discussing how to take forward the working aims of the group. These aims are:

  • To provide a safe and inclusive space for those who identify as both “LGBTQI” and “Autistic”.
  • To create a community group which will raise awareness of these issues in both the mainstream Autism and LGBTQI organisations – as well as    in wider society.
  • To reduce social isolation for LGBTQI and Autistic individuals, thereby increasing self-esteem and enabling participation in their wider communities.

The second part of the meeting will be an informal social event, for which they have agreed that those attending can bring food, if they want to do that.

Please note that you can leave the meeting at any time and you do not have to take part in any of the activities, if you prefer not to. There will be a quiet space available and they will do their best to accommodate all requirements regarding lighting, noise, personal space etc.
