National Science Foundation 2017 National Research Traineeship Program
OVPR invites interested faculty to submit a pre-proposal for the NSF 2017 National Research Traineeship (NRT) Program.
 
Important Deadlines
Friday, November 11th: Pre-proposals are due to
Rosemary Dillon for internal review
Friday, December 9th: Mandatory LOI due to NSF
Tuesday, February 7th: Full proposals are due to NSF

Proposal Submission Deadlines During eRA@TU Upgrade
eRA@TU will be out-of-service from 5:00 pm on November 28th through 10:00 am Wednesday, November 30th for the version upgrade.
 
Proposal submissions with deadlines of November 28, 29, and 30 are to follow this schedule:
 
- 5-day waiver is required if the administrative sections of the proposal are not in the ERA record by 5:00 pm, Wednesday, November 16th;
- 2-day waiver is required if the scientific section of the proposal is not uploaded in ERA by 5:00 pm, Monday, November 21st.
-   Any proposals submitted on November 21st must be finalized in ERA by 12:00 noon.


NIH Commons ID in eRA@TU: Please Update
In the new version of eRA@TU, applicants for NIH funding must ensure that their profiles are up to date with their NIH Commons ID. For instructions on how to do so, please review the system training materials. This is a quick process that will ensure smooth submission of NIH proposals.

eRA@TU New Version: Less than a Month to Go!
On November 29th, a new version of eRA@TU will be implemented. Anyone who uses the system is encouraged to attend a training and review the
training materials on the GMO website. 
 

Several trainings have already taken place.  Future training dates are to-be-determined and will be announced via the eRA@TU listserv.
 
Banner Basics for Grants
Wednesday, November 16th ~ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm  ~  Main Campus, Room 437, Tech Center ~ Register Here
Note: All participants must have access to Banner. This course is a “HANDS-ON” training session designed to provide an introduction to the basic functions of using the new Banner Finance system. Participants will gain familiarity with the following tools and concepts: 1) Review of the FOAPAL string, 2) How and when the Grant # and Index #’s are used, 3) Use of the TUportal to access Cognos Reports, Self-Service Banner, 4) Detailed discussion of the Banner Tab which includes Monthly Cost Center Reports, Using the Financial Advisor Channel, and the Banner Finance Channel, 5) Exploration of the Grant Search Tool using real examples, 6) Using Self-Service Banner to view financial budgets and actuals, look up specific documents and the status of documents, 7) Gain understanding of the differences between Cognos and SSB, 8) Access Cognos reports via the portal.

Philabundance Food Drive
The College will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to Philabundance. This non-profit hunger relief organization feeds as many as 90,000 people per week, and we ask for your help to assist them in these endeavors.
