Halloween around the NAC!
We had a fun time sharing pictures of our staff and coaches dressed up for Halloween when they were kids. Here are a few of our favorites:

The NAC Junior Rowing program headed up North for their first race of the season! The Head of the American is a head race up in Sacramento on Lake Natoma. The busses pulled out of the NAC Parking lot at 5am on Friday morning to make the drive up north. The rowers were back Saturday night after the races, except for the Varsity boys who headed over to Oakland for a scrimmage.
Both Varsity teams showed a good team effort in all of the events, and they are looking forward to the rest of the head race season.
You can check out our NAC Facebook for the photos of the juniors at the race, and along with our updates: https://www.facebook.com/pg/NewportAquaticCenter/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1170011286397641
And if you haven't followed us on twitter - we are able to post updates on the teams and when races are about to start which is great for parents who can't make the race! They can keep an eye on the feed and then watch results come up! @NewportAquaticC
The results are up almost instantaneously on herenow.com - https://www.herenow.com/results/#/races/20326/results
Keep your eyes out for later in the week when we post the NAC Head of the American Jr Rowing Video!

A note from the Novice Girls Coaches: Novice girls came out with a bang, with our A and B boats placing a tight 4th and 5th in a field of 21, showing tremendous depth. A great start to the season!

The boys Novice 8+ won their Head of the American race for the 5th year in a row!

Every year we send paddlers, especially the Junior Outrigger Team, from NAC to race at the Queen Lili'uokalani Canoe Race! We sure had a blast over at Kona, HI this summer. Got to jump in the warm water, eat some poke bowl, see some manta rays, and a lot more!

The Makapo Outrigger team had their Get On Board Event at the NAC on Saturday for the Orange County Makapo Aquatics Project! Over 30 family and friends joined us for a fun day of padding and aloha at the Newport Aquatic Center. Stay in touch Makapo on facebook to learn more about their next event!
