One of my favourite poets, Brigit Pegeen Kelly, has just died. Her work isn't as well known in the UK as it should be. Carcanet are reprinting her wonderful 2008 collection,
Song and the Orchard. Order a copy, she's a fantastic poet.

Happy November!

Emotional Archeology
I spent a week last month at the Arnolfini, just me, artist Daphne Wright's artworks and a notebook. I wrote every morning before the gallery was open to the public and was lucky enough to meet the artist. I'm now editing frantically. You can read a short interview about my residency at the Arnolfini http://www.katrinanaomi.co.uk/katrina-interviewed-by-the-arnolfini. If you'd like to hear the new poems, I'm doing a reading at the Arnolfini in Bristol on 3 December. It's free -http://www.arnolfini.org.uk/whatson/katrina-naomi-writer-in-residence-event.

Fireworks & festivals
On 5 November, I'll be reading with the wonderful Penelope Shuttle and Caroline Carver at Morrab Library in Penzance. On 11 November, I'm performing at Cornwall Film Festival at Tremenheere Sculpture Garden, as the culmination of a collaboration with film-maker Anna Cady. For full info on both events, http://www.katrinanaomi.co.uk/1122-2.

Get some feedback...
If you'd like some constructive advice on your poetry, I'm running Poetry Surgeries for the Poetry Society face-to-face in Penzance and via skype on 29 November. More details here http://www.katrinanaomi.co.uk/teaching.
