Jeepers Creepers...where'd ya get them Support Workers?

Calling people with disability and family members who want to find their own Supports!
Calling all Support Workers!
Do you want to find your perfect match?

We have the Planning Cafe for you!

For people with disability and families...choosing our own Support Workers is one of the biggest game changers of the NDIS. Now we can find and engage the support workers that are right for us. We don't have to put up with strangers turning up on our doorstep to support us. We don't have to go through a service provider to arrange the who, what and when of our supports, only to find out that no one is available for the support we have requested.

Support workers...no longer have to work for a traditional disability service provider.
You can set up your own business as a contractor, be directly employed by the person with disability or work with one of the new online platforms. You don't have to feel conflicted loyalties anymore, or worry so much about following complicated work health and safety policies, or stick to the rules of the service provider which might not work for the person you are supporting.

At CDAH, we know firsthand the difference it makes when people with disability and their families can relate directly with support workers from go to woe: from the initial interview to arranging the support dates, times and activities and paying the invoices.

Support workers, people with disability and family members will all have the chance for some speed dating. Practice your interview questions and learn how to judge who’s right and wrong for you. You never know, you might find your perfect match!

In this month's Planning Cafe, we'll hear from three families and their support workers about how they make this important relationship work.
