Highlands & Islands Social Enterprise Zone - HISEZ

Its official, HISEZ is now an accredited Living Wage Employer.

We hope to lead the way in promoting the living wage and encourage even more social enterprises to join the movement. It fits perfectly with the ethos of social enterprise but we know many private businesses don't adhere to it. We believe in creating a better, fairer economy for everyone and promoting the living wage and encouraging other companies, big or small, to sign up to it, is one small step we can take.

HISEZ Networking Lunches
Our last event of the year will focus on a subject which is very topical, the changes to workplace pension duties. It is also a great opportunity to get together to network and chat over a mince pie and a good cup of coffee.

Inverness - Thursday 1 December 12.30-2.30pm
Workplace Pensions Duties 2016 - HISEZ Office, 67a Castle Street, Inverness

Our networking lunches are brought to you in association with Just Enterprise, the Scottish Government programme of support for social enterprises. Find out everything you need to know about the programme on the Just Enterprise website.

Common Market now open for business
Scotland's newest online market place for Scottish produce opened for business this week. The online market place is an offshoot of the Common Weal think tank and aims to provide an alternative to the big businesses and high street stores that dominate UK retail.

Common Weal will use its established networks to promote the new trading arm, with all items listed on it either produced, designed or upcycled in Scotland. Other than a small amount to maintain the service (10% of sales), all the profit goes to the producer, not to a multinational.

If you have products to sell on the Common Market site please email: market@common.scot. And to see what's on offer visit - commonmarket.scot.
